The Science station Tenjin drops into the Human Jurisdiction’s first artificial wormhole, travelling half way across mankind’s galaxy-spanning realm in an instant. What emerges, however, has not been human for thousands of subjective years. The entity calling itself Aggregate lives through all those aboard the Tenjin, but he desires to exist as every human in the galaxy. Meanwhile, Earth’s exiled tyrant, the artificial consciousness Consul, breaks its ceasefire with the Human Jurisdiction, offering Aggregate support in his narcissistic ambitions.
An abused people fight to reclaim their heritage...
The Satumine, the only other sentient life in the galaxy, are a subjugated and beaten race. Humiliated by a Human Jurisdiction which exploits the technological majesty of the aliens’ forefathers, the Satumine dream of freedom or rebellion. Indin-Indin, siding with Aggregate, dreams of genocide and the restoration of his people to the power and glory of their origins.
A constable who will never forgive...
Galman Tader, relieved of his duty at the Diacom Constabulary, is a bitter and hateful man. He despises the Satumine, seeing terrorism in everything the aliens do. Breaking federal migration laws he leaves his neglected pre-billion colony and follows a trail of dirty Satumine money to Pellitoe, in the centre of the liberal Satumine-loving Swinell Union, determined to make someone pay for crimes everyone else has forgotten. What he discovers on Pellitoe leads him to the heart of Aggregate’s war against mankind.
