Some people really like this book. Ms. Eak told me it is the reason she became a teacher. If you liked this book, please describe why you liked it.
If you did not like it, please do not reply.
Thanks,
Mrs. Tabbert

We read it in English literature class and at first I didn't like it that much mostly because my teacher skipped a whole lot of pages. But then I read the whole book and I loved it! In the beginning Ponyboy is just a poor young boy. However, during the story he turns out to be so much more. Also the characters are greatly described. Dally for example, is the tough guy who's been through a lot and done a lot of bad things but he still has a heart and I love the way he cares about Jonny. In addition to that, Bob is not just the mean guy, there's so much more about him and I feel like thats the case for every character which makes you feel like all of them in fact are alive.
Despite the problems Ponyboy experiences at the beginning and during the book, in the end most things are okay again and the characters learned a whole lot of life lessons.
It's a great book, especially for school because the student get to learn a lot.
It's hard to describe what I like about the book but I hope you were able to understand a few of the points I was trying to explain.

I loved this book. It was the first time I had a crush on a character in a book (Dallas was my first bad boy crush). I loved the relationship between the Curtis brothers and I remember wishing that my home was like theirs - a place where everyone was welcomed day or night and there would a warm place to sleep and chocolate cake in the morning!
When I first read it, it was for my ELA class. I didn't like it at first, to be honest I harshly judged it by it's cover, thinking it'd be a really crappy story. But when we started to read it, I fell in love with it. I loved how Ponyboy described each character right at the beginning so nobody was confused. The whole book seemed realistic, and even though the boys have had gone through some bad experiences, they still had a heart and I truly enjoyed that. The gang also learned a few lessons, and I think the reader gets to experience it too. <3 Just love this book so much!!
I absolutely LOVED IT!! I still do. Mainly because I love ponyboy. He sees the world in a different way that the other greasers see it. I also love that the greasers don't give up even though they know that they will never win, they still keep on trying. Lots of good life lessons in that book.
I was forced to read this book for my seventh grade English class. I remember we were supposed to read two chapters the first night... I went ahead and read the whole book. I was instantly tied into it. I think I like it so much because of the way that it's written. I love Ponyboy, and I love the way he sees things and explains everything. Also, there wasn't a single character I disliked throughout the book (with the exception of the Socs)
