HomeInMyShoes | 2759 comments I spend time listening to the HHGTTG radio plays when I have reading lulls.

That or I go read something from a very small collection of unread stuff.

I either dive into video games, or listen to old time radio shows. I luuuurve Dragnet. :)

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 3289 comments I re-read a LOT. All the time, as a matter of fact. So much that I no longer count those re-reads as reads once I've written a review for them somewhere.

In all honesty, I probably re-read at least 1-2 books a week.

HomeInMyShoes | 2759 comments That's ridiculous. :)

I'm kidding. I re-watch favorite cartoons over and over and I've probably listened to the HHGTTG radio plays about fifty times.

And I've got the complete set of Primary, Secondary, Tertiary, Quandary, and Quintessential Phases so it's a rather long listen to hear it all again.

Christa (christaw) | 1457 comments I actually managed to work my last three books into the challenge. Not a perfect fit, but we're 2/3 into the year so I'm getting extra creative as needed. :P

message 107: by Orlok (new)

Orlok | 555 comments Well why not? :) Good going!

Woot!

I think that works, lol.

Christa (christaw) | 1457 comments Thanks! :)

I finally started reading Afraid last night, which has been on the TBR for a long time. It's... okay. It just starts out with such brutality that it's difficult to feel things ramping up, you know? There's a mystery to it that's interesting, and the depiction of the bad guys is, at times, amusing. And I think I'm about halfway through so it's a fairly quick read.

message 110: by Orlok (new)

Orlok | 555 comments Added Afraid to my do-not-forget list. Sounds like my kind of thing and the reviews are really good.

Christa (christaw) | 1457 comments I'm not actually going to be completing this challenge. I mean, I'm not torn up over it or anything. LOL I just think I needed to put that out there so I can accept it and go on with my life. :D

Orlok | 555 comments :)

Still 4 months to go. Surely you can fake a few past the finish line?

message 113: by Christa, The Renewed (new)

Christa (christaw) | 1457 comments LOL Well, if it happens, it happens, but if not, I'm okay with it. :D

message 114: by Christa, The Renewed (last edited Sep 11, 2016 04:10PM) (new)

Christa (christaw) | 1457 comments I found a poet that I really, really like. Ordered a book, on its way. So I'll be knocking that one off the list. I originally planned to re-read some Rumi but I think this is a better plan.

Oh, and I will be counting It as my 20th century classic, when I get around to my re-read, which will be between now and Halloween.

message 115: by Orlok (new)

Orlok | 555 comments You realize It is 1,116 pages long? At least my copy is. That's some challenge.

message 116: by Christa, The Renewed (new)

Christa (christaw) | 1457 comments Well, when I'm really into a book I can easily top 100 pages a day, and I've got just over 6 weeks till Halloween. I can handle it. Being a no-lifer has its advantages. :D

:)

You seem like the opposite to me, zombie girl.

message 118: by Christa, The Renewed (new)

Christa (christaw) | 1457 comments ROFL :D Yeah, but see, I packed all that life into the first 37 years. Now, I can just coast. LOL

message 119: by Orlok (new)

Orlok | 555 comments With great age comes great wisdom ;-)

message 120: by Christa, The Renewed (new)

Christa (christaw) | 1457 comments Indeed. :)

I have been wanting to re-read It for quite a while, so the time seems perfect for several reasons, some of which I can't explain without feeling silly so I'll just say that it's because of Halloween approaching. :D

message 121: by MrsJoseph *grouchy*, Resident Book Pusher (new)

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 3289 comments I can't settle downnnnnnn - and here you are talking about reading a 1000+ page book.

*facepalm*

message 122: by Christa, The Renewed (new)

Christa (christaw) | 1457 comments Well, yes, but it's a 1000+ page book that I've read before which, I think, changes things considerably. Unlike Nelson "Inanity" DeMille, I know what to expect here.

And that "downnnnnnnn" totally sounded like a groan in my head. LOL

message 123: by MrsJoseph *grouchy*, Resident Book Pusher (new)

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 3289 comments It totally was. lol

message 124: by Christa, The Renewed (new)

Christa (christaw) | 1457 comments I did not read IT. I didn't read much of anything on my Halloween reading list. But I did finish a book of poetry, and started a book set in Nashville so I just updated my list.

message 125: by Orlok (new)

Orlok | 555 comments Another category (and a bit) down, so why worry? ;-)
