I agree, Jingles! Lots of fun and it really spurred me on to read more than normal. Love your name by the way!

I loved UNO last year, but hadn't found any other challenges. Can someone tell me how to get the "newsletter" that I see others reference? Thanks!

The latest newsletter was sent out a few days ago, I believe.
The only reason I can think of that you may not be getting it is if you have the option selected on your account settings that you are only able to receive private messages from Goodreads friends.
Hope this helps! :)
Nanci wrote: "Love your name by the way!"Thanks, Nanci! That's actually courtesy of my 14 year old niece (my sister's daughter who I am very close to).

So cute! Love how upbeat it is and how wonderful to have that close aunt/niece relationship. My sister is like that with my daughters too.

I only send it once every 2 months unless there is something happening, like UNO. So although I sent one for Feb, I'll also do a March one to remind people to sign up or check their team allocations :)
I just filled out the sign up form and this challenge sounds like fun,
I'm excited for this challenge. This is my 1st time participating in the UNO challenge, and I can already tell its going to be a whole lot of fun. I love the good natured bantering going on with the healthy dose of competition.I do have a question, I noticed in one of the comments that the teams are determined by the amount of books you read a month and I kept my # low to be safe. Is it possible to change my # of books I read a month? I put 10 on the form, but can actually get 15 books in a month.
I just signed up! Sounds like fun! Who picks the team name from the list of theme packs? The captain?
You don't have to do that. I just saw there is a Fraggle Rock pack. As an 80s kid, I was obsessed with that show!

Teams names were not announced yet. They are picked by the moderator from the theme packs listed on Wikipedia. I was just looking through the packs and asked who picked the names. Coincidentally, Fraggle Rock was a team name used last year.
I haven't made any team names yet, but last year I used the UNO themed card pack names. There are still quite a few there, so may pick out some new ones for 2016 :)https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uno_(...

Pirates of the Caribbean - one of my favorite movies!!!
Hi everyone....Thanks Annika for directing me over here.....I had signed up for the challenge but couldn't find it in my groups.....turns out I hadn't joined the group...Strange...
Good to see lots of friendly faces here....
First time playing .....looks like lots of fun....
Looks like I've done the exact same thing as so many others: Played UNO as my first challenge and got hooked, participated in TT challenge and now ended back here where it all began!=)Glad to see some familiar people, hope this round will be as fun as the last one!!=)
It's also funny how some of us (taking a selfie here) are so influenced by the joy and enthusiasm of others!!!
We have a sign-up of "Ana" from North America with an average of 4 books per month.I have taken a guess at who this may be from our members and sent a friend request.
If that is you, please let me know as I won't be able to assign you to a team without knowing which Ana you are! Thanks :)
I'm am making a list of books I'd like to read, and the possible cards they would fulfill. Is this behavior normal?
Haha, Laura... I'm already stockpiling possible books with V, Z etc so perfectly normal behaviour as far as I'm concerned. ☺
Karen, I think I put down that I would be captain or co-captain. I underestimated how busy I would be and do not think I will have time to do the bookkeeping aspect of the challenge. I do still want to play.
Laura wrote: "I'm am making a list of books I'd like to read, and the possible cards they would fulfill. Is this behavior normal?"I am going to do that!
This sounds like a blast! I'll be binging on graphic novels this month to save other books for the challenge :)
I'm going to try and get some time later this week to put the teams together so everyone can have some time before the start date to get to know each other
Krysta wrote: "This sounds like a blast! Those torchwood audios are really skewing my 'books read' so far this year though.
Karen wrote: "I'm going to try and get some time later this week to put the teams together so everyone can have some time before the start date to get to know each other"YAY! I can't wait to meet my team! =)

And before we get started playing, let me just say "thank you" up front for putting this together for us to play, Karen.

I am so excited to begin this challenge - my first Uno challenge :)
