Just read She Devils of Austria & Germany, there were a few in there that fit that description.

TBH I don't know if either of these ladies started with their husbands, I just know they both poisoned a lot of people. Back then it was easy to get away with. Downside when you finally got caught you got hanged.

This started in the late 1940s or early 1950s, if that helps.
