I want to read this book before the movie. Should I read the original or the revised? Which one?

You probably know there's a lot of real world context. Also the saga was written over decades, from the 70's to 2012 I think. King incorporates several more current tie-ins, such as September 11th.
I also think he didn't really know the direction he was going for the first couple books.
I'd say read the revised versions. The version King wants you to read. It's no George Lucas mess-up.
