Goodreads just made the following recommendation:"Because you are currently reading 'Scotland: The Story of a Nation', the following book is recommended for you: 'Cruel Sacrifice, by Aphrodite Jones."

Eileen has posted her pick for Author of the Month for September, Vincent Bugliosi.
I edited the discussion thread to "September Author of the Month" and added his name to the "This thread is about" feature.

Here's a funny little tidbit. I stumbled across an article on Buck Walker, the villain in the book I'm reading now (And the Sea Will Tell), and it looks as if Vincent Bugliosi and Bruce Henderson changed the name of his co-defendant in their book about it. Jennifer Jenkins is really Stephanie Stearns. It also says Buck wrote his own book about the case -- maddeningly, it does not give the title!http://the.honoluluadvertiser.com/art...
Here is yet another book available free online about the case, The Curse of Palmyra Island:

OK, after finding yet another book on murders of Mac and Muff Graham, I created a new shelf for them all called Palmyra Murders: https://www.goodreads.com/group/books...
From Caitlin Rother FB page: (she's writing a book about Manson)
"Scene: Charles Manson's first parole hearing in 1978.
A parole board member lists Manson's previous criminal record, then lists his violations in prison since he was sentenced in 1971, noting that Manson assaulted a correctional officer.
Hearing representative Brown: "At that time, you stated to him that if you had a gun you would kill him."
Inmate Manson: "Misquoted. I said if I had a gun I'd shoot holes in his head."
Brown: "All right. Close enough."
Needless to say, Manson did not get paroled."
Mic drop

I was just checking my profile here on Goodreads and it says I have -1 friends. I Guess a negative friend would be an enemy? Or maybe just a real energy-sucker.
As an author you are apparently not allowed friends, only followers. How they arrived at the -1 figure is indeed another question.
No, I am allowed friends, and it's been corrected. I don't participate strictly as an author, but as a reader and as a user of the social aspects. I think it would be wrong to prohibit users who happen to be authors from having 'friends'!

See, there ARE some honest people left in the world. But some of them are pretty slow readers.http://www.worldnewsreport.net/woman-...
