So today I wanted to go to the shoe store in the mall. I told hubby "Park by Barnes and Noble". He parked so that we had to go through Barnes and Noble to get to the shoe store. Wow. What a hardship that was, right? So I told myself I wasnt going to buy anything. I havent read the books I bought the last time I was there. Oh, wait, I better just cruise by the True Crime section to see if there is anything new. I found Invisible Killer by Diana Montane and Sean Robbins. The back cover says "The idea of serial killers living among us is chilling, yet, in this riveting and well-documented account, Dianna Montane and Sean Robbins show us how possible it is and force us to reexamine just how well we know our neighbors and friends". How could I pass that up? The second one is Accused by Tonya Craft about a teacher who is falsely accused of molesting school children. The best part is that I had a 15% off coupon in an email but hadnt printed it off. The store was able to scan the coupon code when I showed them the email on my tablet. Yayy Barnes and Noble. (Oops, sorry Amazon).

It has snew here. And snew some more. Fortunately I am due 4 books from my reviewing group so I'll have something to do with my time, when I'm not shoveling.

We are having a blizzard. 7 inches so far and windy. All roads are closed. Time to curl up with a good book. About this time I wish I had a fireplace. It dumped on us. Whole place is shut down. After shoveling three times yesterday, I went to bed confident I was a step ahead. Then it snowed another foot overnight and the wind came up. I had to get up at 5:30 to shovel the dogs out the back door because one of them needed to pee and couldn't get through. So tired of shoveling, if I could've got out I would've gone and bought a snowblower...
Well, what do ya think? Shelfari is down. Will they fix it? I still have things to do there and thought I had over a month to get it done.It is fixed.
I complained to Amazon immediately. I suggest everyone else do the same. That tends to get their IT guys moving a little faster. By the way, not to be too unsympathetic to those of you who are snowed in, but it's nearly 50 degrees here, with a blue sky and a few puffy clouds. Crazy, I know, but I'm totally digging it.
Shelfari has not been working well for me for the last couple of weeks. It no longer notifies me when there's new posts in a thread; I just have to go to each one and check. I bet they're letting it languish. As for the weather - today they plowed me out and I got to leave the house for the first time in 3 days. They don't plow residential roads here unless it's an emergency so I was very surprised (and pleased) to see a county plow working my road this morning. I took advantage and drove to Home Depot and checked the local park to see if there's anywhere I can walk the dogs. It's marginal, but I'll give it a try tomorrow. And it looks like the postal service is delivering again! (Yay!)

Is anyone still discussing things on Shelfari (TC group). Should we set a day for our official move so we don't have to keep going back to check?
Sorry for all the stuipid questions, maybe we should have a discussion for shelfarians who have questions. Anyway, I want to know if my reviews for books have been transferred from selfari?
A.R., you have to do the transfer yourself. Log on to Shelfari and you will see the transfer-to-Goodreads notice in the top bar in bright pink. There's a link to click on that will take you to a page where you can choose to export your books. They will contact you when it's done. However - in my and I think other peoples' experience, not all of the ratings and reviews actually transfer, so you have to go back and add them manually (copy from Shelfari and paste in Goodreads). Not sure if that actually answers your question!

The Shelfari group will officially close on March 16. That is my group and I will be there to the bitter end. I have not been posting much there because my time is spent trying to figure out this god-forsaken site and it seems like everyone is here. No one has posted there for several days. As I have said before, I will be the last one to turn out the lights when I leave. I am heartbroken that the site I worked so hard on for almost 9 years is just going to disappear into cyberspace. You guys can keep posting there if you want. I will still be there.

Because the import feature only transferred over about 200 of my 4,580 books to this site I am over there constantly, not posting much because I am frantically transferring over the books I have already read and reviewed before 3/16 arrives and Shelfari is shut down. I am looking at what posts there are, and inviting friends from there to join us here...

She so totally is.
When I look at all Eileen is doing here I get this image in my head:

And I worry she's going to collapse in a heap.

Ooh! That's the very bed I was thinking of that one time we were talking about handcuffs...Sorry. I will contain myself.

I didn't think that was possible.

Kiss your sweetie, get knocked in the head. Wow.
**Snort** Sounds like the sports writer who said baseball was a "passing fad".
"The kiss is a malady, like the whooping cough or the measles, it is a blot on our civilization and should be dealt with drastically. I know of no better remedy than to have the proposed law passed and the policemen enforce it with a good hickory club if necessary." Physician opponent of the practice [kissing].

Possibly, although I was typing on my phone.
Possibly, although I was typing on my phone.
So I'm sitting in my living room, listening to the gusty winds outside - supposedly up to 65 mph - when there is a terrific bang and crash. I soon discover that the wind ripped my storm door open, slammed it against the wall, and shattered all the glass. It's too dark and windy now to clean it up, it will have to wait. I had to tie the remaining door frame closed so it won't bang all night. I guess I'm in the market for a new storm door.
Have now removed the remaining storm door and picked up a lot of the glass. I'm considering using left-over packing tape, weaving a mat from it, and covering part of the yard to see if I can pick up glass that way. No shop vac. Any other suggestions? Spent yesterday with one of my dogs at an Odor Recognition Test, where he picked up two more odors for K9 Nosework. So proud of him, he's come a long way!
