I'm torn if I'll continue reading on; I typically avoid rereads because I have so many books I want to get through, but it can be quiet delightful to reread the things of my childhood. Now that Netflix is making a series out of it starting NPH as the Count, I want to refresh myself on the complete story that isn't jumbled around ... I'm looking at you, movie with Jim Carey.

hahahahahahahahaha! That's what makes him so delightful. A feeling of loving murder XD

THIS!
In Brazil we call it "amor bandido" something like "thug love/bad love", it's when you are in love with a bad guy lol
Anyway, I can't wait to see how it ends!!! :O

GR Summary:
Dear Reader,
I'm sorry to say that the book you are holding in your hands is extremely unpleasant. It tells an unhappy tale about three very unlucky children. Even though they are charming and clever, the Baudelaire siblings lead lives filled with misery and woe. From the very first page of this book when the children are at the beach and receive terrible news, continuing on through the entire story, disaster lurks at their heels. One might say they are magnets for misfortune.
In this short book alone, the three youngsters encounter a greedy and repulsive villain, itchy clothing, a disastrous fire, a plot to steal their fortune, and cold porridge for breakfast.
It is my sad duty to write down these unpleasant tales, but there is nothing stopping you from putting this book down at once and reading something happy, if you prefer that sort of thing.
With all due respect,
Lemony Snicket
I am reading this for the 2016 Topic Discard Challenge #30 (a prequel to a series you are reading). While I do not consider this to be a true prequel, it seems like a good beginning to a series. I read this when I was much younger and wanted to revisit the series, especially now that Netflix is supposed to be turning it into a series. I loved the movie they made and how campy it was. I am interested to see if I still enjoy this series as much as I did as a child.
