LibraryCin | 196 comments There is a thread for leafmarks. But, I wasn't sure the best place to mention this.

I just started a group over at LibraryThing called "Shelfarians on LibraryThing" if there is anyone trying out LT, as well.

You'll find the group here:

Book Haunt (bookhaunt) I'm checking out each of theses book sites and I have to say I'm really liking LibraryThing. I think I may have joined the group already but I'll double check.

LibraryCin | 196 comments LibraryThing is actually my favourite of all the sites (that aren't shelfari!). :-)

nx74defiant | 7 comments LibraryThing has a lot of the information I miss elsewhere from Shelfari, But I find it a bit difficult to navigate.

It's not easy to figure out, I'll admit. I think there are so many features offered + it doesn't seem to be as visual and I suspect those things combined make it a bit more confusing.

Dosha (Bluestocking7) Beard (bluestocking7) | 160 comments I have to admit I don't really want to be on more than one book site. It's just too hard to keep up! I have a job that requires we join social media. I'm on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. I never even log on to instgram and twitter. It is just too time consuming. When would I actually read if I spent the requisite time constantly updating three sites. I tried this one (GR) and after all of the recommendations I joined Leafmarks. I don't like Leafmarks, and I did try to like it. I really did. It could be that because I spent so much time learning GR, I was too drained to learn Leafmarks also. maybe they work out well if you join them with many months between each membership. I learn visually so of they don't look the same, I"m all messed up. I will try Library Thing one day before the summer is over just because I'm too nosy to just stay out of it.

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 286 comments Dosha, if your job requires you to be on social media, you can tie your Twitter account to Goodreads and have your reviews automatically posted there. That way, you could be "active" on Twitter without having to mess with it.

Really? This would make me look pretty good with the administration. It is only because of them that I'm on twitter. I hope it is not hard to tie the accounts together.

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 286 comments It's really easy.

Go to your profile (click on your avatar at the top right and select "view profile") and select "edit profile" which is next to your name. Then select "apps" and you'll see the section for Twitter. Complete the info and then select what you want to have routinely posted. You can have just your reviews or you can also have status updates post.

I just printed your latest post, now I'm going to make some tea or coffee and try it. Thanks.

I totally agree with this. I spend a lot of time on GR as it is and just don't have the time to spend on the other sites. One is enough!

Dosha (Bluestocking7) Beard (bluestocking7) | 160 comments Jonetta wrote: "Let us know how it goes!"

I think I did it. Once I got started I realized I wasn't too sure about the password. Anyway, I put in what I thought it was and nothing bad happened.... Now, I believe I have to actually go to GR and review a book in order to know if it worked by checking into Twitter to see if the review is there.

I hope so too. I am a school secretary. School, literacy and all that :-)

You are probably right BC, just curious, why do think so?

It's not easy to use. Adding a book to your shelf requires multiple steps. The site design is crowded with info .. not clean and easy on the eyes.

I have to admit that I was thinking along the same lines as BC. It doesn't hurt if you still want to try it out temporarily, but I'm not sure you'll like it, either.

I am using Library Thing a bit,but don't like it.I am sticking with GR.Like Dosha,I've spent time over the years learning GR. I am using Leafmarks for backup for now.Still using my paper journal. If I lose GR,I am done!
