I was looking for a book but i cant remember the title. It's about a woman who is a professor at some university. She has two children and is divorced. she goes to visit her uncle (i think he's her uncle), who is rich and/or famous for some reason. she does a commercial with her kids there. at some point, she goes to the airport to welcome someone and meets a man who is a cop and is a lot younger than her. they have sex in the limo and she sees it as a one time thing. But he wants to see her again. she refuses thinking she is too old for him. there is a stalker who is terrorizing her family with phone calls and letters. it turns out that the stalker is after this cop's friend who happens to be a famous writer. in the end, the cop gets shot and, while he is in the hospital, he and the woman get together and agree to live together.

Every time I see your header in the email it reminds me of my mom's favorite book. I know it's not yours though, but I'll put it here so it can be eliminated since it most definitely contains an older woman who falls in love with a cop, but it's someone she's known a long time. The book is Family Blessing by LaVyrle Spencer.
