You might want to ask in the GOODREADS FEEDBACK group. There's a folder for "Suggestions & Questions" and a folder for "Bugs" ... so one of those folders might get you the response you need.

Thanks

Did anyone else have this problem when transitioning and is there any way to delete multiple shelves at a time??

I apparently had duplicates on my shelf and in trying to get them on the same page to delete one copy, I moved them both to "currently reading"... and it kept upping the number of times I read it!
Grrrrrr!

I left if overnight, hoping it might fix itself. Nope. When I look under the tags (that both editions supposedly have), only one comes up. I open it up and it tells me I've read it 2 times. When I go into edit, it shows me a different edition that I supposedly have on my shelves. I open it and the same tags and review are there.
If I click on one of those tags, only one edition shows up, so I can't try to delete from this list. This morning, I put them both in "to read", then ordered my to read list alphabetically. They were both there. I deleted one.
Then started over, finding the edition I kept. Went into it... SAME THING!!!! It tells me read twice, I go to edit, and it shows the duplicate edition... and on and on!
I just went and cleaned up the rest of my duplicates (there have been a lot and I occasionally go and fix them), but there are a few more there that seem to be showing me the same thing. I deleted one of the duplicates, but when I go into the one I kept, it tells me I've read it twice...
Is there a GR group I can get help with this on? On the edit page, I think you should be able to delete one of the two "supposed" readings, but I don't see an option to do that.
ETA: I suppose the issue is more that it's not really deleting the other edition. I tell it to, it looks like it does, but apparently it's still lurking there somewhere. That's probably why I can't delete one of the instances of it being read on the one edition.

As I was cleaning up my duplicates, it is listing two different books as duplicates:
"The Romanov Sisters"
and
"The Last Days of the Romanovs"
both by the same author. As far as I knew, these are different books, though. How can I get GR to understand that they are not editions of the same thing?

Report these issues in the Goodreads Feedback group.

I wasn't sure if the Feedback group was where to go.
Thanks!

I was just typing a reply on how to do this when you added your new post. I am able to delete duplicates directly from the edit page. In the "My Books" list, I added the setting that tells me the number of times I've read a book. After I sorted by this column. I found it listed a number of books I supposedly read multiple times. I was able to click on the edit button for each book and delete the extra read dates by clicking the "x" next to the wrong ones. The list is about ½ way down the edit page.
Hope this makes sense and solves the issue.

The Librarians group is appropriate for this one. I just took a look at it and it seems it was incorrectly combined.
Your other issue happened when they introduced the reread feature. I just can't remember how they were directing members to fix the reread count and the duplicates.

But, I'll try your suggestion, as well.

ETA: I suppose that's because GR thinks I have two different editions, so the dates aren't listed as being entered twice on the same edition.

Oh, Cin .. what a nightmare.
Here's what I would do.
1) Copy/paste your review and correct date read into a word document.
2) Delete ALL copies of the book from your list.
3) Wait two days
4) Reenter the edition you want and copy/paste the review from your word document into it..... adding the correct (single) date read.
It's clumsy and time consuming, but I think that should work.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just noticed this evening that I was finally able to get rid of one of the duplicates in the same "normal" way I got rid of all the others. It (obviously) wasn't working before, but I know a few people were having issues when I first posted, and I let GR know the book that was giving me a problem, so maybe they did fix it in the meantime.
Well, for some reason I happened to notice that several of my books had NO read date. Since I only shelves books that I've read this was problematic (and no, I did NOT import my list from Shelfari ... I've been a member here since 2007 and had maintained "parallel" shelves all along). Thank heavens I had duplicate records on LibraryThing, so I was able to fix those missing "read" dates."

Wow, that's weird... Yeah, I'm grateful I have both LT and GR when something is missing from one, I use the other to update.
There's a bug (that has been reported) .... recently added (or updated) books are not appearing on the "read" shelf appropriately.
What I do ... open MY BOOKS
Sort by DATE ADDED .... -or- Enter the book title in the Search and add books box that is immediately to the LEFT of the "Batch edit" link
Click on the EDIT link under the Date Added field.
SAVE (I do *not* type anything or change anything, I just save it)
Then I resort MY BOOKS by date read, and voila ... the book is at the top of the list, where it should be.
You can follow the discussion on this bug in THIS thread in the Feedback Group.
Hope that helps

I still need to take it to work to scan it, and I'm hoping I can just upload the cover myself and not have to ask someone else to do it for me. Thanks!
