Archives > When Jack discovers the wasps’ nest,, he sees it as a symbol of all he’s been through & a good omen for the future. What fatal mistake does Jack make when he interprets his find? What do you think is the real symbolic significance of the wasps’ nest?

Paula S (paula_s) | 220 comments There are a lot of similarities between the wasps' nest and the Overlook hotel itself. Both look harmless, Jack brings both into close contact with his son, and both hurt Danny. The fatal mistake Jack makes is believing that it is harmless, when it actually is only inactive.
