Well I have it, but haven't had a chance to start it yet due to other reading obligations. I have a feeling there will be many playing catch up. I wouldn't worry about it. It's not just about the discussions after all. What's important is that clubs like this provide opportunities for people to pick up books that they may not have chosen themselves.
If you make the effort to read the book and consider it, you are already miles ahead!
Great point Robin, that actually made me feel a little less stressed about not having my book yet. ha, cheers for that.
Also remember to check Independent Bookstores in your area. Even second hand.I picked mine up from a fantastic Independent dealer after searching the main chains.....
Just popping in to say I haven't either--I'm 33rd of 35th on the library waiting list, ha! One thing that's great about Goodreads at least is that when we finally do read the book, we can go back through and find the thread talking about it. I bet there will be a lot of people doing this anyway, since people have various time commitments and read at various speeds. :)
I just ordered mine today from Amazon- when you order a real book though you get a sneak peak at the first few pages, so technically I have started it, LOL!!
I just got mine yesterday, but I just started another book and want to finish that first so I probably won't start it til next week!
I only picked up my copy yesterday. Looking forward to starting it sometime in the next few days.Crom
I ordered it from the library, but when I checked on it, it was loaned out until march 2017 :) So I'm gonna skip this one...
I don't have the book yet, mostly because I read some of the quotes shared here and I have not been impressed, that added to the fact that I find it a little over priced for kindle has disappointed me, so I think I'll skip this one and see if there's a better one on the horizon.
I eventually gave in to the ebook world to get the book, I much prefer a paperback but it doesn't seem to exist for this one and the hardback is too expensive and impractical for me (I mainly read on the tube). The kindle app is free to download on tablets and smartphones and 'My Life on the Road' cost me £7.79. I've just started and I love it already, so it's totally worth getting in any form you can!
Hope this helps!
Alma (London, UK) xx
I just ordered my book from Amazon. I am a late joiner to the group and happy not to be the only one!
I'm also waiting for my copy to arrive.. got an update that it will take a bit longer :pbut it just makes me more excited to finally be able to read it :)
love this book club already
Also ordered from book depository and waiting for it to come.. But i did order it late.. Cause it took me a while to find out about the group.. Hopefully we will know the next book soon to order it as well!!!!
I just joined last night so I went to the library today and their copy has to stay in the library! WTF???? So, I bought the hard copy at the book store since I couldn't bare to wait for a delivery. I'm reading tonight :)
I'm waiting to get the ebook from my library. Shouldn't be too much longer now. I hope I'll have time to read it, as I have other book club commitments.
I just received mine about three days ago...but I've not had a chance to start it yet. I'm excited though!
I came late to the party as well. I ordered it from the library and find I'm 20th on the list! I just hope I receive it before the end of the month! I remain cautiously optimistic...
I couldn't "find" the book in the bookstore either (initially) and had to ask...it was on a special table for new biographies....not on the self.
I haven't been able to access it yet and will probably be playing catch up. Hopefully there are lots of others doing the same so we can discuss previous months books together!
I'm gonna read it on Kindle Amazon
I can't wait
I can't wait
Nope still waiting for mine. I have mine on hold at the library and I am number 52 out of 69. I most likely won't be seeing that book until late March, early April. :( I also had the audio on hold and that has not been working out well either I also won't be seeing that until March.
Kaitlin wrote: "Nope still waiting.... I am number 52 out of 69. :( I also had the audio on hold ..."OMG Kaitlin, you are VERY PATIENT. I saw 24 on the waiting list of copies for check out and said "no way". You might get yours by 2017, unless they have lots of copies circulating, and if that's the case, then frugality and patience wins for it could be sooner than spring. Fingers crossed for you!
Still waiting for the library book. I hope we find out the second book, so I can be ahead of the line for next month!
A suggestion for people who have books on hold at the library. I put the book on hold soon after Watson started this club and today was still 200th in line. However, I also put the audiobook on hold and received it a couple of days ago. Try looking into the many different versions (large print, digital, etc.) available at your local library!

I had to order mine in from overseas, I'm hoping I'm not the only one who might have to play catch up every month.
