Kate (infinitelynovel) Let us know what you thought of the opening chapters here!

Meredith Mara (meredithmara) | 6 comments "Today was the day a thousand dreams would die and a single dream would be born." How's that for an opening line. BAM! When I read those first words, I knew this story would be something exceptionally special. Eighteen chapters in, my high expectations have not only been met but exceeded!

Cherry (_forevermint) (_forevermint) | 35 comments "The devil had arrived. And some strange part of me was glad." I really love Mary E. Pearson's writing style so far and the story in general. I love that the identities of the prince and assassin are a mystery. It definitely adds something unique and intriguing to the plot. So far I love Kiss of Deception! And I have a feeling I'll only love it more as we keep reading (:

Only read this if you've read up to chapter 18 --> (view spoiler)

Kate (infinitelynovel) I'm really loving the pacing of this book. It's slow, but it feels like it's slowly building towards a huge bombshell. Am really looking forward to discovering if I'm right!

Speaking of bombshells, there have already been a couple of things I DID NOT see coming! I'm usually quite good at predicting plots, but I wouldn't like to make a guess here.

Can we also talk about the prince and the assassin?! I mean, just who is who?! Every time I think I have it figured out, something happens and I change my mind! Arrrrrgh but I love it...

I know, right?! I'm halfway through the book and still guessing, wavering back and forth as to who is who.

omg same Kate! some clues are so vague and could really go either way! I wonder if it was a challenge to write the story in this way xD

Also, is anyone else bothered by the fact that Lia ran away from her kingdom, totally neglecting her responsibilities and worrying her entire family? I get that if she didn't, there would be no story lol, so I'm putting it aside for now, but just wanted to know if anyone else felt the same way.

Shahd SM (shahdsm) | 8 comments I've reached chapter twelve and I'm loving this book! It's kinda hard to imagine Kaden.. I don't know why. Anyway, I still don't know which one I like more the Assassin or the Prince. We'll see :)

Leslie | 8 comments I love the way we are left in the dark about the two men. It's so clever and really helps push the pace and mystery of the story. It's been a long time since I've seen someone do something this different and really enjoyed it and thought it worked well for the story.

Sarahi Flores (readergal91) The story is certainly building up. Lia was brave enough to run away. She may be abandoning her responsibilities but as she said they weren't as important. I mean it was only marriage that was her main responsibility and even with that her father wasn't so sure to trust them. Just seeing her parent in a loveless marriage she knew she wants someone who will truly love her. It's funny how she assumes her ex groom was going to be like an old prince. I see it as an irony lol.
