I really couldn't see him being an accountant, or a law clerk...
In his extreme youth he was apprenticed to Miser Mumster which is where he learned to write in a good clear hand.....
Good thing he wasn't apprenticed to a doctor then!
Unlike Tallis, in my case, my handwriting is my only qualification to practice medicine

AbsolutelyAs an aside I am editing a slim volume of Tallis's memoirs, largely blog posts but with one or two stories never before seen.
And even the blog posts have been edited slightly to allow some ingress of the truth

Yes, I suppose the fact that they are 'ART' doesn't make pictures of naked men suitable for the kids to see. I'm sure she'll be in later on though...

that's true. obviously somebody has led her astray this evening with a plate of bacon sandwiches and so she's not made an appearance
