I must admit it was the first time I've come across the term, had to google it!
What did you discover?
Apparently it's "Roflcopter: A portmanteau of ROFL and helicopter and popularized by the website www.roflcopter.com. The website contained the animated gif and nothing else. The term was supposedly first used by a Blizzard Entertainment moderator in the Warcraft III forum in 2003. lqtm: For "Laughing quietly to myself"I've never been into warcraft so never hung about on the forums, and had just never been on the forums where people would allude to it.
I have heard it in a couple of videos, I sort of knew what it meant.
This was the first time I'd come across it, so I thought I'd better check.Also ROFL isn't really an acronym I ever use so I've got to stop and think when I see it. (Which isn't that often nowadays, I suspect the fact that emojis are so easy to create is perhaps killing the old LOL etc
Like ROFLASST(rolling on floor laughing and somehow still typing)
I have wondered how many of them date back to the early days of the internet when everything was limited, and how many of them come from texting?
