I'd also love to see Maya Angelou and Toni Morrison, both of whom are extremely important 20th century writers of colour.
I would love to see Redefining Realness by Janet Mock, who is a trans woman of colour.
Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi is a fantastic read. It's a graphic memoir, so it adds a bit of diversity to format, and it's about the life of an Iranian woman, who is also Muslim.
Basically, I want to see books by people who aren't just white, straight, American, cis, etc. I completely agree, I hope this group makes an effort to be intersectional.

I read this book recently and loved every page of it! Chimamanda is definitely one of my favorite authors. I hope we get to read her.
