Zippergirl | 36 comments I've been rating books at kindle.amazon for the past year or two, and I don't really want to copy all the ratings manually from one website to another. Is there any AUTOmagic way to do this? It's at least 300 books.

Am I posting this in an appropriate group?

thank you!

Eric Westfall (eawestfall) | 105 comments For what it's worth, this question came up in another thread (blank at the moment on which one) and I'm fairly certain there's no way you, as a "ratings writer" can get your GR reviews to AMZ or vice versa without doing them individually.

Also, with AMZ reviews I don't think any HTML is allowed, while you have the option to do that at GR, so you may have to be careful if you use italics, etc., at GR and then copy to AMZ.

Of course, my perception may be wrong.

Zippergirl | 36 comments Eric, thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. Murphy, you know him, tells me that I probably need to do this by hand.

It's mostly just ratings, which i click the minute I finish a book. I read so many indie books, mostly freebies and cheapies, I'd like to get my 5 stars out there in the wider world for the author's benefit.

Have you done the setup for GoodReads on your Kindle?

When I open a book for the first time, the "About this book" popup gives me the option to move the book to my "Currently Reading" shelf on GoodReads.

When I click the rating at the end of the Kindle book, it sends that rating to both Amazon and GoodReads, and automatically moves the book to the "Read" shelf on GoodReads.

The rating won't publicly show up on Amazon's product page unless you physically write a review, but it is there. It shows up when I go to write the review, and on Amazon's Media Library pages. So Amazon has collected that rating on their site.

checking . . . checking . . . as we speak. Alas, no. I am reading on a android tablet with the kindle app and it doesn't appear to offer this choice.

My kindle fire v.1 won't charge anymore, like thousands of others, but I am considering a Paperwhite if it will communicate with Goodreads. Should I do this?

Thank you!

Randy Harmelink | 2930 comments At the moment, I own three PaperWhites. :)
