Just One Night
Just one night. That's all it was supposed to be for Anthony McAllister and Denise Monroe. But then one night turned into one weekend. And one weekend turned into one test that would change both of their lives forever.
Now all Denise wants is for things to go back to the way they used, but Anthony soon discovers that he wants more and he'll do whatever it takes to convince her that just one night can lead to just one beautiful lifetime...together...

From Thieves’ Paradise to Drive Me Crazy to Chasing Destiny (which reached #6 on the New York Times list—his eighth bestseller), Eric Jerome Dickey has captivated audiences with his edgy, steamy books.
Dickey’s fans will be delighted by this fast-paced, deadly, and sensual read that gives them the chance to catch up with some of their favorite characters while introducing a great new bad-boy narrator: a hit man who goes by the name of Gideon. He’s a man who lives off the grid, drifting along while making love on the run as he works as a hit man—enacting the revenge of the broken-hearted . . . for a price.
With a supporting cast of grifters and killers, broken-hearted squares and streetwalkers, and three very different women who each want to become Gideon’s leading lady, this is a world that thrives on the darker passions of revenge and desire.
Get ready for another scorching hot read full of twists and surprises from an author who keeps climbing higher on the bestseller lists with each new book.
Their Eyes Were Watching God
One of the most important works of twentieth-century American literature, Zora Neale Hurston's beloved 1937 classic, Their Eyes Were Watching God, is an enduring Southern love story sparkling with wit, beauty, and heartfelt wisdom. Told in the captivating voice of a woman who refuses to live in sorrow, bitterness, fear, or foolish romantic dreams, it is the story of fair-skinned, fiercely independent Janie Crawford, and her evolving selfhood through three marriages and a life marked by poverty, trials, and purpose.
A true literary wonder, Hurston's masterwork remains as relevant and affecting today as when it was first published - perhaps the most widely read and highly regarded novel in the entire canon of African American literature.

Any other suggestions? I would like to post the poll tomorrow so we that we can have selection by Sunday.
I see this is #5 in a series. Do we need to read 1-4 first?

No they are all separate stories on different couples within the family. In my on opinion, she's a very good writer.
Great...thanks! My library do not have this one. I will monitor early comments to weigh purchase.
