I haven't started writing yet. :)
No idea. :p 650 pages, as many words as it takes.
I have several ideas, to be honest. The one I'm focusing on is a science fiction novel that's set in the near future and will be more character driven and less mystery/thriller/action.
The blurb I wrote:
1. Tom, the first genetically modified human, has been in isolation since he was born due to both his uncontrolled power and his weak immune system (a side effect of the experiments performed on him as an infant). Now he’s finally managed to contain the magic—sort of--, and the doctors say he can handle everyday illnesses. But is he really prepared for the world? More importantly, is the world prepared for him?

None so far today...I'd better hurry up and start, because my writing club meets tomorrow.
In real life. :) It's at my local bookstore.
I'm writing a completely different series now. I gave up on the first idea.
310 words so far, not counting the title, subtitle, and chapter heading. :)

Why'd you abandon your first idea? (I've done it before with several WIPs, though I hope to go back to them later and work on them; I just know it's always a different reason why.)
It just wasn't inspiring to me, I guess. :)
I've had several of those, so I completely understand! Lol. And what you're working on now? What genre?
It's hard to explain. It's about a world/town where there's a minority group of people with ice powers. (A little bit like in Frozen). They live in a fenced area and are segregated from everyone else. The main character is, like all the other 'Normals', prejudiced against them, but when she's caught vandalizing and has to do community service in that section of town, she starts to realize that maybe the Icebound (as they're called) aren't all bad.
It needs work. I just finished writing chapter one. :)

Although the premise isn't exactly my cuppa, I wish you 110% luck with this new idea! :D I'll be here cheering you on with everyone else.
I came up with a third idea that I like even better! I'm too fickle, maybe, but I'm going with this one. :/
:)
448 words for the new idea. Is an evil/oppressive boarding school a cliche?

Astrid wrote: "Good job!!! Nothing has to be cliche if you tell it in your own way. ;)"Exactly. Just be aware of what the clichés are, and try to avoid them (or put a twist on them). For example (just something off the top of my head): the principal of the school is strict and cruel, but only because she's afraid of what the unruly students will do if she's not.
