Ria (ban1chka) | 440 comments Holy f*ck, does this chapter make sense when read for a second time. I can't remember what I thought about this particular chapter while reading it for the first time, but now I know how much I've missed in my first reading. I can't even explain it, it simply makes sense. I'm only now realising the complexity of this book. I can but wonder what new I'm to discover in the following chapters/books.
Also, I've always loved Bran's chapters. They just stand out, being so full of magic and wonders in a world almost completely drained and devoid of it, a world so bloody and brutal.

That is the great thing about re-reads. You always learn so much more. This is my first read through of this book but I can very much imagine that is the case with it.

"There are different kinds of wings." I wonder what this means...
Is this just the present? or any references to the past or future I wonder...
George R.R. Martin is awesome. With the three eyed crow basically giving Bran a third eye.... hmm... lol
I wonder why he chose the name Summer for his direwolf. Because he wants a little bit of summer in what seems to be a really bad winter?

Terry ~ Huntress of Erudition Just because he can't walk doesn't mean his spirit can't fly -

I believe so, yeah. He saw what was coming in the lands beyond the Wall, and I think he decided on the name Summer as a beacon of hope in the hard times that are to come.
