Dear Librarians,

Could anyone add an author of Pieter Steinz to his page? For example: http://tinyurl.com/ho2ffn5 or http://tinyurl.com/zsdj8zt.

Many thanks!

lethe | 16359 comments Adding author pics is problematic. They would have to be in the public domain or the copyright holder should have given permission to use them without visibly stating a source. I don't think these photos qualify (unless you have taken them and give permission).

I didn't even think of that! You know what? I am just going to be cheeky and ask his publisher because Pieter Steinz is worthy of an author picture. Thank you for the information!

The publisher didn't get the concept of Goodreads; so in short I failed. But lets be honest what kind of publisher doesn't know Goodreads? For shame!

Øyvind | 1 comments If a photo of an author is already published on Wikipedia, is it still problematic to publish it on Goodreads as an author picture?

Often. It depends under whether the image on Wikipedia is public domain (which would be ok), or one of the various Creative Commons licenses (most of which have terms Goodreads is not really set up to comply with).
