Erwen (tigerssterne) | 11 comments I read this book around 2003, but the book was most likely published quite a bit before as I read it in school, picked from a rack. I think it was a hardcover.

There are two boys and one girl in this story, and they are hiding in a caravan in a field - I cannot remember why though.
There is some bullying - the girl and one guy gang up on the other guy and even tie him up at one point as he cries (I think because he tried to leave). They reacts with disdain to his tears, quite callous really.
They are probably not over 12 years old.
A mysterious black car parks near the field at some point, I believe - perhaps why the kids were hiding..
So sorry nothing else comes to mind when I try to remember this book, but it's been bothering me for years!

I would say it was probably a children's book, or for under 13s.

Tab (tabbrown) | 5084 comments What genre: mystery, sci-fi, etc?
Anything about the cover?
Part of a series?
Time period /location story takes place?

Erwen (tigerssterne) | 11 comments I'm wary of giving too many details as not sure I can trust my memory so many years on.. But I'll try some.
Cover: Hardcover. Mostly white/cream. Picture in middle.. not sure if caravan or girl from story?
Genre.. mainstream? Child fiction?
Not part of a series afaik, and I think it was set in the 90s in England.

Hanna Olson | 15 comments It could be one of the books from the Boxcar Children series.
The description doesn't quite match yours, but it's close.
It's a children's fiction book with two boys and two girls (6-14yrs old) who hide in a boxcar (similar to a caravan) in the woods.

The book has a 90's England vibe to it, although the first book in the series is much older and I think it's set on the east coast.

Erwen (tigerssterne) | 11 comments Thanks for the help, but that's not it. It's more sinister, the way I remember it.

Lara Miller | 11 comments There's a scene in a caravan in Greenwitch by Susan Cooper, though I don't remember anyone getting tied up. I feel like there was a black car in there somewhere.
