Hi James. Since you know so much about female privilege I wonder if you could explain to me:
- why women get paid LESS than men for doing the exact same jobs.
- why a woman with the same curriculum as man has less chances of getting the same job
- why domestic violence has way more female than male victims
- why there are women, on earth, in the XXI century, that cannot vote. (yes because feminism stands up to women all around the world, not just white females from europe or america).
- why it is ok for countries in Africa to legalize polygamy (and if you do one of your little researches you'll find that the man marries more than one woman, not the other way around)
- why women have less chances of having a political career
- why young girls are called "sluts" daily if they talk to more than one guy but if a guy does it he's "the man". (sometimes you need to look beyond the politics and think about what's going on on social media).
- why rape and sexual victims are mainly girls.
- why sexual harassment is still way more common in girls.

I don't know what your point is in being here James, but I most certainty know you don't want to just state an opinion, but rather pick a pick, since you've picked up a feminist club. But you're a free human being, do as you wish.

Mimi | 11 comments I think James might not understand yet that feminism is about equality not female power over men. I hope this book club changes his and other people's opinions about feminism. Thank you, Emma :)

James Sorry, Emma Watson, but HeForShe Is Rotten for Men

Until feminism recognizes discrimination against men, the movement for gender equality will be incomplete.

Harry | 2 comments Equality is really important for both men and women. Because it makes them feel in a life that has some fairness...

Agnes Szalkowska | 385 comments "asks men to pledge to “take action against all forms of violence and discrimination faced by women and girls” but says nothing about problems affecting men and boys." !!!!!

Whoever wrote this article was not watching the same speech of Emma . What rest of the world.

Hmmm

xsuey Dear Emma,
I'm so excited for this community of yours and the whole book club idea. I'm always looking for books which have a feminist overtone to broaden my horizont and am happy, that books are used to help us all understand what feminism means, what it's good for and where the problems with it sometimes lie. Because they did help me with understanding the many aspects of it. I studied literature and the gender studies were my main focus during that time. We read many amazing books like Sylvia Plath's Bell Jar and Margaret Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale in my literature courses. I bet these are the books one reads in anglophone countries in school, I needed to wait until universtiy for that chance. So, I'm very much looking forward to the next year:

Greetings,
Susanne

@ James:
Sorry, but these whole cologne references suck.
You know, feminist actually took their time, waited for information on the events of the night and started discussing it thorougly. And then an amazing project like http://ausnahmslos.org/english was started to bring awareness to the broader problem and how the sylvester night is being instrumentalised for racism. So they actually have their opinions, they just didn't scream first, think later.
The most hilarious part: the people who were asking 'where are the feminists?' are now dismissing the message.

(Sorry, if anything is misspelled or the grammar is off, English is not my first language)
