Hello! I'm a 15 year old from the U.S.!I joined this group because in the school I go to, not a lot of people like to read. They are mostly all about Instagram and Snapchat. I believe that men and women are treated equally, no matter what the case. I saw this club on this website and I thought that I can make friends here who love to read and believe in women and men equality. It's very nice to meet you all! I accept any friend request. :)
Hey Moonlight Eclipse Reader,
Welcome welcome! We're got plenty of books for you to look into. The ones we're read together :https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
And then all the books that members and mods have added as recommendations for your own personal perusal. https://www.goodreads.com/group/books...
Enjoy! Ask question, and enjoy making new friends!

Hello, everyone!I'm Aniket from India and I'm in my early 20's.
Preferred pronouns are he/him/his.
I love reading, writing, Science and Tech.
I have also always been a devout feminist. I believe in equality. I also feel very strongly against misogyny, homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, racism and all the other forms of discrimination and hatred.
I just found out about this group and had to join.
I look forward to reading and getting along with the rest of the group.
Take care, everyone! Have a great day/night!
P.S. Fun fact: My name sounds feminine to people who are from countries other than my own but it is a male name here.
Hi I’m Jordan, 28yo Aussie expat now in Texas USA.
I joined because I want to learn, grow as a person, read books that mean something. I used to work at a feminist organization in a Domestic Violence Centre but since moving country I feel I have lost that community of supportive and forward moving women in my life and I hope to get that here. I also have a lot to learn about the world I guess, outside of what I knew in Australia.
Looking forward to reading and observing the discussions.
Hello my name is Sophia, from California. I am a second grade teacher. I joined the book club to find books for my reading challenge for 2020. Im down to six if anyone wants to help: A book by a french author, a book about the medical profession, a book with a badger on the cover, a book written with a pseudonym, a book about brothers and a book set in the Renaissance. Thank you to anyone who helps
Sophia wrote: "Hello my name is Sophia, from California. I am a second grade teacher. I joined the book club to find books for my reading challenge for 2020. Im down to six if anyone wants to help: A book by a fr..."Hi!
I think you might want to look at George Sand :)
She is a French author who used "George Sand" as a pseudonym, her real name was "Amantine Aurore Lucile Dupin". I have not read a book from her but you mentioned you wanted a Book by a french author and a book written with a pseudonym.
I hope that helps :)
Florian. Thanks! They can’t double count but I choose two books to fill slot. Four more to go (I started with 60)
Hi. My name is Luisa, I'm 17 yo and I'm brazilian. I joined because I love to read and I want to learn more about feminism, what it means to be a feminist and how it affects different people. I also want to improve myself, be a better person, and I think learning it's the first step to that.
Hello everyone ✨ My name is Emma, 27 from Belfast NI. I joined the book club because I want to try and become a more active member and connect with those who share my love of reading. I’m aiming to learn more and read out of my own comfort zone; 2020 for me is about growth both personally and professionally.
I’m excited to begin reading and discussing along with you all. ✨✨✨
Hello! I'm Lizzie, 26 years old, from Salt Lake City.I joined because I want to spread my wings as a reader and read more than just generic fantasy novels. I've been very interested in the feminist movement, and I hope I'll be able to enjoy the books we'll read.
Hi! I'm new to the group and it's the first time I've joined a group so I will seem a bit dorky for awhile. I am looking forward to participating
Hello I am new to the group, I am looking forward to reading at least a few books from this group fiction or non fiction. What's on the shelf?
Thanks for the add! I love all things dark and twisty! I can’t wait to find some new authors through the posts of this group. Thanks again. And Welcome Everyone!
Hello, I'm Dan Hill and live in St. Paul and winter in Palm Desert, CA. I'm semi-retired, and can now turn my time, as I have, to writing the kind of books (non-business) I prefer and more time to read as well. I hope to learn about all sorts of interesting books from this group. I'm a life-long feminist, having watched my dad condescend to my mom way too many times. It's not every teenage boy who reads The Second Sex, and the writings of Emma Goldman (and got a little ribbing from my male friends)!
Hello there, everyone!Dan wrote: "It's not every teenage boy who reads The Second Sex, and the writings of Emma Goldman..."
I'm loving your story. It gives me hope!
My name is Isabel and I'm from Spain. Currently I am looking forward to reading Little Women (for the first time!) using the momentum of the movie. Would anyone care to join? ^_^

I second Emma Clement's statement. The rules of the group do stipulate No Self-promotion.

hello! It appears that we may be able to value the work of moderators since they don't moderate anymore 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🙇♀️

Hello everyone! My name is Michelle, I’m a 28 year old from Puerto Rico. I consider myself an farmer, even though I lost my farm after hurricane Maria, I am currently working on getting our farm project back in business. I’m very passionate about nature, science, wildlife, social justice, and food sovereignty for my island.Equality has always been something very dear to me, even more so living in the Caribbean. But it wasn’t until watching the “Little Women” movie (such a beautiful movie by the way), that I felt the urge to read more and know more about the fight for equality and women empowerment. Since I’ve always been a fan of Emma Watson, and knew that she belong to an international book club, I started to do some research and came across “Our Shared Shelf” and I’m so happy I did.
I’ve already started reading Emma’s nov/dec book recommendations, and absolutely love them. I’m looking forward to being a part of this group and it’s journey, for a very long time. My only regret is not joining the OSS sooner.
Best wishes,
Michelle

Hi! I’m Rita, 30yo (whoa!) and I’m from Peru!
I LOVE reading, and I love educating myself with books that actually tell a story and bring knowledge to my world. I am so glad to be a part of this and I appreciate all the members!
Hi everyone! I’m Brooke. I’ve been a bookworm since middle school even though I have a learning disability, I still like to get through books. I joined this club because I’ve been way too quiet about my feminism and am too scared of being seen as “loud” and I feel like this is a step to help me use my voice.
Hello I'm Antonio. I joined to read books with you. I am still learning about Feminism. I would say I'm a novice. I was not a fan of Miss Watson from the start but slowly after some years she convinced me to become a Feminist and a HeForShe. I am glad i'm finding all of you in her Bookclub. Hope we enjoy reading together.
Happy Tuesday from the Greater Tampa region! I've spent a while establishing my platform at Twitter and after growing to 21.1K connections I decided it was time to strengthen my presence here at Goodreads. I'm sort of a slow reader unless I'm obsessed with a TBR story and cannot stop thinking about it. I've authored 3 stories and I'm writing two. After purging my Friends and Followers list on this platform I'm excited to make fresh connections and discover other readers and reviewers. I joined this group because it seemed among the popular and most active. With all that, I'm eager to post interactive polls and blog posts and establish myself. I look forward to these opportunities and welcome you to invite a connection with me. (This is definitely more character space than Twitter!)

Hello, I am Trisha from the UK, I joined because I would like to discover new books and connect with other likeminded people. Nice to meet you all.
Hey, everyone!I'm Paula, I'm a university student from the very south of Brazil. I've loved reading since I first learned how to read and my favorite genres are fantasy and sci-fi.
I've been interested in equality from a young age, but only heard about feminism in my adolescence (10 years ago!). I love to have discussions about these subjects so I'm really excited to be here with you guys!
Hello I'm Manousos, I do philosophy in Greece. I do many things, I read a lot. I believe Emma is very helpful for understanding. She does many things, she fights for women rights, she read hundrends of books, she distributes wealth, she is the ambassador of the UN.
Under Emma's supervision thinking is easier, words flow easier, everything is better. She likes everyone, she is against racism, against inequality. She is against all forms of bigotry. Under Emma's heels everything is aloud except bigotry. Hate-speech is not welcome here.
I'm happy to participate in her Team. Emma's Team works closely together to provide a good Home for everybody. I am happy to state that Emma for me expresses wisdom. I was searching in many books before like the Critic of Pure Reason. Critic of Pure Reason is right in many aspects, all of them. Emma's thinking approaches Kant. She states we can't know everything but we have to believe.
One time Emma stated that "I can't know everything, so I follow my Instict". It's an example of Emma's wisdom. Emma's leadership is unquestionable. She knows what is right and she does it. She owns millions of hearts in the Planet.

Ahoy there to every other person in this wonderful book club, I am Udai, a 15 YO Indian student, an Indian Civil Service Aspirant ,who is a supporter of each step towards equality. I came across OSS when I was reading an article in regard to feminism and came to know that Ms. Watson had created a book club for feminists readers , myself being a feminist and a bookworm, found myself joining this Group in no time, But my only regret is I that I should have joined this group earlier. I guess its okay now as I have finally joined it!!!
Hi, I'm Oliver. I think I am a little too old to be here. 41 years old from Hong Kong. You know what have happened here in the past recent years. And the relationships I messed up with the people around did irritate me. confuse me, push me to the bottom of sea and suffocate me hopelessly. Thank GOD, I've been through it with reading and I've gained back my confidence that could be the most paramount ego I cannot afford to lose again. The interesting part in this journey was that I found I'm an easy crier crying for any sympathy or empathy. Now I'm planning to immigrate to a country in the free world, but before that I need to do more reading and improve my English in both written and spoken.
I'm grateful to be here and be able to share my views about life and book, hopefully you don't mind to be a friend of an old man. :)
hey, oliver, no worries! i'm nearly 74 and have found this forum to be quite accepting and non-judgmental when it comes to age. glad you're here, and i hope your journey into a new phase of life goes smoothly.by the by, i think your english is lovely. sorry you had such a rough time with relationships - i know something about that! sounds like you're doing a good thing for yourself by moving forward. best of everything to you!

Hope you can start a new chapter in your life and find happiness and joy? Our Father in heaven will provide what you need and ourselves! you are not old and we can learn from each other. Happy journeying and reading. God Bless
