Claire Datnow (goodreadscomclaire) | 2 comments Congratulations! I am thrilled that so many authors are responding to this topic, I agree that Eco-fiction should be based on our "real" earth ecology from which the fiction is built, otherwise our stories do not empower our readers to take realistic action to help reduce environmental degradation. Climate change/eco fiction is a serious theme that should not be sugar coated. Fiction can be a powerful way to make future consequences more immediate to ourselves and our readers, and inspire them to join “green” organizations. I hope that my readers will understand that science-based solutions are the key to reducing the consequences of climate change. I weave scientific knowledge into the story to create hopeful but realistic endings to my story rather than gloomy or magical fairytale ones.
