Clara 1-Arya and Beric’s men are at a place call Stony Sept; Harwin told Arya her father won a battle there. He and Robert faced Lord Connington, the Hand invaded the town because Robert was wouded and hiding there. The King’s Hand wounded Hoster, and Robert killed Rhaegar’s squire. It was called the Battle of the Bells, the septons rang the bells so people locked up their doors. I forgot it was called because of that.

2-People there get food because of a man called Mad Huntsman, and he was looking for Jaime like many others. He has a bunch of dogs that like to eat people, I forgot that, and it’s awful. People said Jaime slipped through Edmure’s fingers, I guess they talked about how he sent men after him and they got back all soaked.

3-Arya sees this crow cages and men in them. They were way too small, and they were thirsty and burned because of the sun. They were northmen, who killed eight people; they went after Jaime and killed the people of Tumbler’s Falls because they didn’t find them. One also raped, and they cut his dick. There were men dead and alive, and the ones who still lived begged for water, and Arya moved to give it to them. Lem asked them why they don’t hang them, and one replied there was nothing decent about what they did, so they wouldn’t kill them in a decent way. I agree it wasn’t decent, but this sounds like a horrible and slow death.

4-Harwin and Gendry helped Arya reached the cages, I guess they didn’t agree with how they were treated. A man said the Hunstman wouldn’t like that, and Anguy killed the men still alive. I think it was good he did so, it was mercy in my opinion.

5-They go to an inn called The Peach, and a red haired woman named Tansy is the innkeeper. Tansy was the name Hoster calls and asks for forgiveness, and even though her age it’s not mentioned, they called her woman, so I guess she’s not a girl like I thought. I wonder if this one is the same Tansy. She knew them, and ordered them to get clean before getting into a bed, but she had one for them. Arya didn’t want to have a bath, she had two a fortnight ago, lol. They dressed her like a lady again, and she was not happy of course.

6-She remembers what Syrio told her about seeing, so Arya noticed there were way too many young and comely girls, and told Gendry she thought they were in a brothel. A girl named Bella who claimed to be Robert’s daughter sat next to Gendry, and told them she got her name because of the battle, and she could rang his bell. Bella costs nothing to Thoros’ friends, but Gendry said no and went outside. I wonder if he thinks like Jon and doesn’t want to father a bastard.

7-Beric’s men were drinking and busy with girls, and Arya thought about running away, but soon realized she wouldn’t make it. Another thing people was saying: Catelyn and Brienne spent a night in Jaime’s cell and then Catelyn let him go out of love, which is just ridiculous.

8-A creepy old dude sat next to her, called her peach and asked for her name. Thankfully Gendry was there once more, and told the man she was his sister. After the man left, Arya asked Gendry why he said that, he was no brother of hers. He answered he knew, he was too lowborn to be her brother, and told her to go, maybe he’ll ring the bell after all. I don’t think he did, and I don’t think she said it with a bad intention like he thought she did.

9-Arya went to sleep, they got one big bed to all of them. She said her list as usual, but changed up the names a bit. She had a wolf dream, and the next morning the sound of dogs barking woke her up. She saw through the window how they were putting a man they called Lannister bastard in one of the cages. When she saw her face, she noticed the man wasn’t Jaime, and thought the gods heard her prayers. What an end! I thought the first time he was someone from her list, but there were so many options I wasn’t sure.

Vicki Kalb | 310 comments Your point 5, I think girls become women definitely by age 16, and at the time Lysa would have been pregnant it was during or before Robb was born, I think. It would be nice to know her age, and if she's important to the storyline at all.

Your point 6, you know what, I haven't even thought of that! I am thinking you're right. Or it could be a multitude of things.

1. I forgot Stoney Sept is a town. I can’t remember a lot of the things Arya did in the riverlands, actually. Apparently Ned won a famous battle here. He and her grandfather fought Lord Connington (probably Jon Connington’s father) who was Hand at that time and looking to kill Robert Baratheon before he could join forces with Ned. This was when Aerys still sat the throne. It was a fierce battle. Robert slew six men, one of them being Myles Mooton, a famous knight who’d been Rhaegar’s squire once. Oh I see, it was her grandfather Tully who fought beside Ned. Lord Connington escaped. They call it the Battle of the Bells because the whole time the septons rang the bells to warn the smallfolk to lock their doors. I like that Robert always said Ned won that battle. I forgot all about this incident in history.

2. Stoney Sept allows them through the gates now, being Lord Beric’s men. They talk about the kingslayer, wondering if he’ll take the Blackwater down to King’s Landing. They’re searching for him all around the river; Stoney Sept is located where the Blackwater river begins. It’s a good thing they didn’t go that way then. This man named the Huntsman in particular wants to catch him, then kill him. Lem is very against murdering him, though. He’s worth a huge ransom; you’d be a fool to kill him.

3. They go further into town when they see men dying in crow’s cages. Lem is also against this. He says they should just hang them, none of this prolonged torture madness. The townsfolk call it justice. They are apparently Robb’s men; the Huntsman caught them. Arya of course doesn’t like that. Some of the men are dead but some are still alive. They want water. Arya takes pity on them. Sounds like they were Karstark men, searching for the kingslayer and decided to kill, rape, and plunder on their way. When she hears this she’s ashamed to call them her pack. Still, she gives them water despite the townsfolk telling her to move on. It’s nice that Lem and Harwin help her. They say this isn’t Lord Beric’s way. Of course Gendry would help too. Anguy shoots prisoners from inside the cages, ending their misery. Even though Arya doesn’t know what it means, she thinks valar morghulis, which is very appropriate here.

4. Aha! I knew there was some tavern wench in the riverlands named Tansy! She is described several times as having red hair, like Tully. I’ll bet anything she’s Lysa’s bastard. She certainly knows how to chastise the men. She makes Gendry blush, which I smiled at. I guess this inn is also a brothel. Both Gendry and Arya are uncomfortable here, lol. It’s even called “the Peach.” I can’t believe Tom and them would let Arya stay here. Lol, some girl called Bella wants to ring Gendry’s bells. Gendry is hotly against it, though. Interesting.

5. Good lord, Tansy and the others exchange rumors about her mother, Jaime, and Brienne. That Catelyn set him loose because she loved him. Arya hopes it’s not true. It must hurt her to imagine her mom moving on from her father’s death. Not to mention the scandal if it were true, which of course it is not, but these people don’t know.

6. Suddenly a perverted old man mistakes Arya for a prostitute and Gendry has to rescue her out of that situation. They get in an argument over why he said he’s her brother; too bloody lowborn. Gendry is quite pissed off, and I wonder why. Maybe it has something to do with his mom being a whore; I think he mentioned it in GoT or CoK once. Now he wants Arya to leave him alone. Interesting. Seems like someone’s going through manstruation. The only other reason I can think of is Gendry secretly likes Arya and struggles with that fact: she’s highborn and not even a woman yet.

7. The next morning the Huntsman is back with a shit ton of hunting dogs and a dozen men. They’re putting a Lannister prisoner in one of the crow’s cages. At first they think it’s Jaime but Arya recognizes the man’s face. *SPOILER FOR UPCOMING CHAPTERS IN A STORM OF SWORDS* (view spoiler)

Clara Yes, you're right I think! I think I just had the idea of a 30 year old woman in my head, but it could be. And she's red haired. I think Lysa has red hair as well, and now that I am rereading the book, I think you are right, and Tansy is Lysa's bastard. I don't think Lysa ever mentions her, but I'll pay attention,

Omg about your point 6 I thought the same, he likes her! But I said to myself, maybe it's my fangirl hope they end up together. Plus I thought the way she said he would never be her brother had something to do with it as well. But she's quite young and not in her priorities, but oh man I do hope it's like that. And lol at manstruation.

Vicki Kalb | 310 comments Lol, only in ASOIAF do I feel comfortable enough to suggest a 16 year old boy has a crush on an 11 year old girl. And that I ship certain sibling marriages.

Clara Haha yeah me too. But I think it also has to be with the fact they grow up so much, and don't do things they are supposed to do at their age. I also love them and find any excuse, lol. I think they are just for each other!
