This book started out, I believe, with this group of women whom were meeting together in someone's home. They did this often, and ended up sitting on the kitchen floor discussing serious issues that were occurring in their lives. For some reason, they decided to go for a walk, a walk that lasted weeks and drew national attention. Some people thought what they were doing was cool and others thought they were crazy. People brought them food and sleeping bags and sometimes walked with them. As they continued their journey, they came to understand themselves better and solved some of their personal issues. I think this book was a best seller.

It was general women's fiction. I would say it was 4-6 years ago that I read it, but not certain about that.
