Jenna Farris Characterization is the way an author develops their characters. In "The Outsiders" by S.E Hinton, the characters are created very well, and you get to know them deeply. For example, Dally is considered to be a very careless person. He doesn't really love anybody that much. When Johnny dies, he changes drastically. As a reader, you begin to realize that Dally is not like that, and he really loves Johnny.
This is an example of developing a character through relationship (Dally & Johnny's relationship affected Dally).

Saskya I love how Ponyboys and Darry's relationship changes after everything that happens. You can tell that they are close, but in a older/younger brother sort of way. After everything that happens they realize that all they have is each other. It was a really good book with amazing characters.
