Should I create a series for this graphic novel?

I just want to double check if we can separate graphic novels from the actual books and create a series for them?

Graphic novels should be separated from the novels they are based on. They are considered adaptations. The name of the adaptor should be in the primary author position.

Also should the title be the same as the novel series? With the added note in the description of the series that it is a serial created for the graphic novels.
