SOLVED. Sci-fi alien romace (OLD) [s]

So I'm looking for a very old sci fi romance.
The premise of the book was basically:
A female alien general got plastic surgery to come to earth "under cover" and ends up falling for a human man. I've been looking for this book for YEARS. In the end of the book i believe her human boyfriend then chooses to live an alien life with her. I can't remember the title or author.
But i remember the name of the book reminded me of the song "Jessies Girl"
