R7: "Seven Wonders of the Reading World" (2)

I'm currently reading See Me by Nicholas Sparks - for me and it fits a bunch of challenges some that had to be completed this month. Slow going though so far not as emotional as others I've read.

You have to start a new book that fits after the roll unless you start from page one again.

Good luck with the move.

Maybe Death, Taxes, and a Chocolate Cannoli (9 in series) or one of my many first in series...lol

whew - hate to have you have to read a different book
enjoy!

Joann I will be interested to see your review since I have that book on my TBR.
Vi - I really like that series but the world building is so intense I have to be able to really concentrate when I'm reading it. Not a light read but very enjoyable.

Love her books - I have the last book in the Animal Magnetism series to read and hoping for 7 to be one of the numbers. I was trying to save it for this challenge but if it doesn't come up the next roll will end up having to read it since it will be due.

I'll be reading it this weekend - I've liked other books by her so I'm hoping it's a good read.

Love when things fall into place like that.
Who do you write reviews for?

There are some books that have made it onto my TBR this week, so much for my New Year’s Resolution, oh well c'est la vie.

Sounds good. I review for RomanceJunkies.com and Romancing-the-Book.com
Several authors also ask if I'd read/review their books.
I'm on Susan Mallery's street team - was a Fool's Gold cheerleader for 2 years when she still had them - and named a character in one of her Fool's Gold books and the character was given my last name!

I liked the Killer Instinct series by this author and the Outlaws series is similar that the characters live in a compound that can't be found, are self sufficient given their circumstances and are multifaceted and you have to dig deep to get to know them.
Claimed reminded me of The Giver by Lois Lowry but had too much sexual content much of it unnecessary. I would classify this book as erotica and no way a contemporary romance.
There was a lot of action, fighting and survival skills put to the test as a war had wiped out most of the world. It's good vs. evil; outlaws vs. Enforcers.
I will give the next book in the series a try and hope for less sex if it isn't necessary to the story line.

Agreed, Danielle. I can't read this series back to back for more than 2 books. But I like that the author does heavy bang world building and expect us to keep up with it. I'm about halfway into the book. I even sneaked a bit at work and got caught at it too!
I had a library run last week and picked up a number of books that I'm eager to get my hands on. I can't wait to sink into them.

I agree. I think a lot of authors believe sex sells. Not all of us this type of details and sex when reading. At least 50% of it could have been left out and the story would have been much better.

Had to have someone drive me home from work and leave my car there!

Death By Honeymoon by Jaden Skye
How It Fits: #1 Caribbean Murder Series
Date Read: 02/02/16
Rating: 3☆
Review:
This had everything about murder mysteries that I like. Cindy is left a widow, when her new husband drowns while on honeymoon. Everything is not as it seems and Cindy is soon trying to find out the real reason for his death. This was a relatively quick read with plenty of character development. I wish I could have rated it higher but the ending was rushed ax if the author wanted to tie up the loose ends quickly. Which was a shame given the build up of the story. We are however teased with the introduction of the second book in the series in the last few pages of the book. Definitely a way of getting you to read the next book, which I certainly will.

9th in series

Review....as per usual...Tara Holloway is up to her neck in shenenigans involving tax evaders!! This book, whilst predictable.. (I've read 8 before..lol )...still has the ability to catch you unaware...
I love how Diane Kelly..weaves the story...creating another story within to give you that much more of an adrenaline rush as things are all sorted.
I can't wait til the next book comes out :)

Finished: 4/2/16

Review:
I got confused at the beginning, the story didn't unfold well. The 'info dump' and world building was disjointed. I actually had to read a synopsis/review to figure it out.
However about halfway through it started getting interesting. I couldn't put it down for the last quarter. I can see how this series is popular, I accept the author was young when she wrote this and it shows.

Week 3: Spot #19 - 1st in Series

Book: Instant Attraction by Jill Shalvis
How It Fits: #1 in Wilder Series
Date Read: 02/03/16
Rating: 4☆
Review: Jill does an amazing job of mixing humor, fun and just the right amount of emotion and depth to the story. They are two damaged characters who are helping each other heal. Their romance is paced just right and their problems aren’t just swept under the rug but instead we get to see them face their fears and start healing. The secondary characters are entertaining and you learn just enough to want to continue to read to get to their stories. Overall a wonderfully entertaining and moving story that will keep me coming back for more of the Wilders.

Book: Worst Laid Plans by Claire Robyns
How It Fits: #1 in Maddox Storm Cozy Mystery Series
Date Read: 02/04/16
Rating: 4☆
Review: This book was very well written and kept me guessing until the end. Maddox is a strong lead character who is cheeky and fun, she has a strong supporting cast of Characters on her quest to find out what truly happened. The only issue I had with this book is they kept using the term Home Ed which is actually called Home Economics or Home Ec. I had a hard time with that

Book: Mortal Ties by Eileen Wilks
Date Read: 02 Feb
Rating: 4 stars
Review: This is turning out to be one of the best UF series. A very strong world building that takes itself seriously and keeps you invested in following the world with the all the really sort of scientific explanations.
Character development is done well as always; had some unexpected twists that I didn't expect but I would say this book was more action packed rather than emotionally. Will defn be continuing the series.
