Hi All,I live in CT on the east coast (Eastern time zone) and have participated in this challenge several times but not in the last year. I look forward to playing with everyone.
I am willing to roll the dice since I do stay up late but prefer not to be captain - not good with linking, etc. The captain can post the info the next day on the proper thread I would just post it on this thread for our team.
I can usually find my book immediately after the roll is announced but if not I will choose it as soon as I get home from work that night - assuming we roll at midnight Central Time on Friday morning. I'm willing to make suggestions if someone is stuck on choice of book as well. I like us to post our reviews to the thread each week as soon as we've read/reviewed the book so if we get stuck with life getting in the way later in the week we don't have to worry about it.
There are 7 of us on the team. Some suggestions for team names are:
Seven Wonderful Readers
Seven Wonders of the Reading World
Double Down
Looking forward to "chatting" with everyone.
Hi teamies :)I'm just south of you Joanne..in Jersey :)
Don't want to be captain....not computer friendly..at all!!! lol
I work a lot...but always am reading in my down time.....I have a lot of series...so I am ready!!
I like Seven Wonders of Reading World :)
I'll try to think up other names too. :)

are you Northern or Southern Jersey? I'm in southwestern CT about an hour from LaGuardia; an hour and 1/2 or a little less.
Have cousins in Atlantic Highlands and spent a couple of days in Atlantic City last summer.
I always am reading in my downtime. Have lots of series but a lot of times I go with the alternate.
Hi, I'm in Arizona and we have our own time zone since we don't do Daylight Savings! But right now it's the same as Mountain Standard Time. I haven't played this game before since I'm still relatively new to GR (Just a little over a year). I'm getting the hang of linking stuff so if no one else will be the Captain then I can probably figure it out, although if someone else wants to then that's great.

Hi all. I'm possibly the only non-US teamie.. I'm from Singapore which is now 13 hours ahead of EST. I can help with the dice roll because it is middle of the day (or evening). I haven't yet figured out what is the Central Time Zone.I would prefer not to be Captain since I don't get much Computer time back home with my toddler daughter. I would be usually checking in via phone or from my office.
I'm really looking forward to this challenge - it should whip me back to shape with my series. I have a looooooot of ongoing series and I'm eyeing new ones also. I have a control issue as you can guess :D I'm also a chatter if I get the chance ;)

I'm in central Jersey....an hour out of NYC :) so closer than AC... :) which is a good 1 1/2 hour drive south...lol

I have also been to China ..on a separate trip :)
Singapore is beautiful...at least the kittke we saw.... we were there during all the holidays...Diwali, Chinese hiliday, and Malaysian holiday...sadly we weren't abke to go into Malaysia due to the holidays....they closed the border to visitors...so I'll have to come back.
JoAnn,I live in NW Peoria. It's about 90 minutes from Scottsdale. I just moved here a year ago after retiring from the Air Force but I grew up in Arizona so I'm pretty familiar with most of it. Although I will say a lot changed in the 20 years I was gone.
Hi everyone I'm here. I live in the UK. I haven't played this sort of challenge before but I'm very excited.I like Seven Wonders of the Reading World.

That's great. We always loved our visits to AZ!

Hi Louise - where in the UK? We went to England many years ago and while London is where we stayed we did take a few day trips by bus.
Danielle wrote: "I lived in New Market, England for two years and loved it. Although I did miss the sunshine :)"My niece and her husband were in the London area for 18 months when he was transferred for his job. They loved it and got to travel to many other countries.
Hey everyone I live in Atlantic Canada, New Brunswick to be exact. Excited to be here, I'd really prefer not to be captain or cocaptain because I have no idea what I'm doing. Nice to meet you all
Wow we're from near and far.Just waiting on Belinda
Krystal, feel free to weigh in on a name for our team.
Sounds like Danielle and Louise could maybe be captain and co-captain or vice versa?
JoAnne wrote: "Danielle wrote: "I lived in New Market, England for two years and loved it. Although I did miss the sunshine :)"My niece and her husband were in the London area for 18 months when he was transfer..."
Hey!!! There is sunshine in England!!! lol. We had plenty of it when I was living there!! And...also every time I visited since! :)
Hi everyone!! Sorry for the late check in. I picked up a bout of gastro at work.....ew!! I'm in Australia so ill have to check timezones. Really looking forward to this game! I live the randomness of each roll
Belinda wrote: "Hi everyone!! Sorry for the late check in. I picked up a bout of gastro at work.....ew!! I'm in Australia so ill have to check timezones. Really looking forward to this game! I live the randomness ..."Hope you're feeling better - wow - we really are all over the world.
Welcome to our team.
Happy Reading all. Are we set for captain/co-captain, team name and who will be rolling each week? Are we going to try and have our books finished, reviewed and posted before midnight Central Time Thursday night so whoever rolls can roll at the start of the day for this challenge?
Let me make sure I have it right: midnight CST Thursday is Friday 5pm here in Melbourne?I can be a co captain and help out but can't be full time captain.
JoAnne wrote: "Louise wrote: "Hi everyone I'm here. I live in the UK. I haven't played this sort of challenge before but I'm very excited.I like Seven Wonders of the Reading World."
Hi Louise - where in the UK..."
I live in South Wales just outside Cardiff. When we go on holiday we tend to visit other parts of the UK, although guaranteed NOT to have wall-to-wall sunshine (it is currently raining!) there is plenty to see and do.
Timezone wise I'm 6 hours ahead. So midnight Thursday is 6am Friday.
Belinda wrote: "Let me make sure I have it right: midnight CST Thursday is Friday 5pm here in Melbourne?I can be a co captain and help out but can't be full time captain."
Yes, you are correct on the time.
It sounds like Danielle and Louise are willing to be captains or coBelinda is also interested in being a co
You guys can decide and let Ezi know
maybe we can have two co's if it's not too cumbersome?
I just can't wait to see what the roll is!
Louise wrote: "JoAnne wrote: "Louise wrote: "Hi everyone I'm here. I live in the UK. I haven't played this sort of challenge before but I'm very excited.I like Seven Wonders of the Reading World."

I had a penpal from there when I was in grammar school and high school. Small world!
JoAnne wrote: "Happy Reading all.... I can do captain duties if Danielle would rather co-captain. Like you suggested in your first post Joanne, I would rather everyone post their reviews to the thread as soon as possible once they have read their book, RL has a way of getting in the way sometimes this would make it easier to link in a master post each week.
This will also make it easier to see which reviews are still pending to meet our Thursday target deadline.

Love the idea! Once we roll and choose our books can you post what each individual review should look like so we're all on the same page?
Getting closer.
1:10am here so I'm off to bed - work in the AM

Yes, no problem with that. I like to have everything in one place so it's easier for everyone.

One of our visits back home took us to (I think) Cowbridge....I can't remember....it was to visit a longtime friend of my mum. We also went to Cardiff Castle and Tintern Abbey :) and when I was in boarding school in Blandford, Dorset...we went to Swansea on a school trip :)
I am jealous that you are there....I wish I were :)
Good night all - 11:30pm and can't keep my eyes openearly meeting before school tomorrow
won't be able to check posting on roll or let you know what I'm reading until sometime after work tomorrow night
Oh, my post was swallowed :(@Catherine: You're a seasoned traveler. Is there any part of the world you haven't been to? :)
I'm waiting for the roll.. 1 more hour to go, right?
Catherine There are some pretty amazing places here, and when it isn't raining there is nowhere else that can compare.
Yup. 45 minutes to go!! Even though we're so far away from everything I've managed to a fair bit of travelling: America including Mexico, China and Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Bali, Egypt, Europe (London, Paris, Rome, Venice, Amsterdam, Athens)......I think that's it???
I really hope to get back to America as there's soooo much I missed and I'd love to go to Japan too
