Jamie Moss In the book, "Things Not Seen," there is a lot of characterization already, and I am only on page 75. On huge piece of characterization, is the fact that in the beginning, Bobby is really nervous, scared, and he doesn't have any idea what to do or think. Now, Bobby is trying to take charge of the problem, and he is going outdoors. This is a very big step for him to take, and the fact that he was able to do this is huge. Bobby comes through with this idea when he realizes, "I can bear it, so I'm going for a walk. Today. Right now. In the sunshine. Because I can. Because I want to. Because I'm not going to just sit around and wait for stuff to happen anymore. I'm still me, and I have a life. It's a weird life, but its still mine" (68). This shows that Bobby does not want everything to stop for him, and he wants to keep going on with his life. Even though it might not be perfect, he is still capable of making everything work.

Jamie Moss I am now on chapter 16, and I feel that there is a lot of characterization for Alicia. At first, when she and Bobby met, Alicia thought that Bobby was an ordinary boy. Then, wen she noticed that he wasn't wearing clothes, she changed her feelings for Bobby. After this, Bobby explained what was happening to him, and she felt somewhat better. This affects the characterization of Alicia, because she goes from being calm, caring and sweet, to scared, angry and annoyed. But, Alicia is able to look over the fact that she really has no idea what's happening (since she is blind, and can't see for herself that Bobby is invisible). By choosing to look beyond this, it gives her and Bobby a special bond, and they are able to look out for each other.
