Isabelle Kellezi In the book Just Listen by Sarah Dessen she chooses the character traits, relationships and how the characters act wisley. For example, Anabel is a model, she's pretty and the reader can infer that she's rich. Anabel lives a pretty good social life until she gets into a fight with her (ex) best friend Sophie. Dessen has Anabel fall in love with Owen. The two of them come from completly other worlds as Owen is a more a doesn't take off his headphones sit at lunch by himself type of person. It makes the readers intriged as Owen and Anabel fall in love because of the fact that they come from two different worlds; that right there is great and carefully chosen characterization.

Isabelle Kellezi Also in the book Just Listen another example of well chosen characterization is Sophie. Sophie is well chosen because she is the girl everyone wants to be yet she has so many problems with in her life. For example she's having problems with Anabel and with Will.

Isabelle Kellezi Sarah Dessen in the novel Just Listen has very interesting characterization. For example Anabel and her two sisters (Kristen and Whitney). Kristen is an out of the box thinker and always speaks the truth and what's on her mind. Meanwhile Whitney is the complete opposite of Kristen; she's shy and hardly ever speaks. Anabel is somewhere in the middle, she isn't shy but she's not outgoing. I find that this is interesting because although the three of them are sisters they are very different.
