Leonora Leo (leonoraleo) Hi! My name is Leonora. I applied for librarian status just now and am hoping I will be able to become one.
I have a little question. I only read digitally, that is to say I only read audiobooks and ebooks. Some of the books on my bookshelves lack the right editions.
I have two questions.
1. If I find the right edition, but not the right publisher, e.g. an ebook but it''s not the publisher on my edition, can I add it? I found the Complete Chronicles of Narnia set which I own in ebook format, but I did not find any edition with the right publisher.

2. If there is a book with the audiobook format already added but the Audible edition has not been added, can I add the audible edition?

Hope you all are having a great day!

pedro (pedroreads) | 15 comments 1) normally you must pay attention to the publishers, page numbers, cover etc. if it's completely different yes, the right call is to add new edition. also pay attention if your adding kindle editions or ebooks editions, that to my knowledge are substantially different for the library porpoises.
2) i think so but I don't consume those kinds of books.

I hope I was clear to you. welcome to this side of the force. have a wonderful 2016.
regards, pedro.

Yes, but it is worth checking if incorrect publisher added

I.e Headline Publishers are an imprint of Stodder and Houghton, GR policy is to use the lowest level so in that case it would be Headline

Elizabeth (Alaska) I would think ebooks (and probably audiobooks) all have an ISBN and that would be the determining factor.

And in the case of Audible editions, an ASIN.
