SOLVED. man with God's face. novella? [s]

SO I read a short story or novella that was about a guy who wherever he went, people would come up to him and tell him their life story and he didn't know why. Then one day someone came up to him and explained that he had part of the face of God, which is why people were compelled to talk to him. Obviously he didn't believe it and the guy wanted to take the part of God's face back from him so he went along with it and then people never came and talked to him again.
I don't remember much else and would like to re-read it, I have a feeling it might be a Stephen King story (I read a lot of Stephen King novellas when I was younger but not many other authors) but don't quote me on that.

It might've been in an anthology? It's been years like maybe middle school(I'm in university now) so I can't be certain
