What made you decide to crowdfund for your project? I listened to a Webinar with Amanda Barbara about Pubslush (I think it was with Brooke Warner from She Writes Press who interviewed her) and remember asking a questions about whether I could try crowdfunding for a book launch event in a movie theater. I wanted to invite a keynote speaker, have a panel of authors and “Gutsy” people to speak about the launch of our first “My Gutsy Story®” Anthology. Pubslush had never done this before, but they thought it was a unique concept and I could get the 64 authors in the Anthology to promote the campaign.
What was your most effective method of communication? Personal e-mails and contacts on FaceBook, my own FB group called “Gutsy Indie Publishers.”
What were you able to achieve with your campaign dollars? I received enough to pay for a professional film crew to film our event and make a DVD with all the authors’ websites included on the DVD.
Any other comments about the company? Publslush is great, and Amanda Barbara is a huge supporter of authors and very dynamic.
