Delaney Marie Why does no one realize that the we are ALL divergent. You take tests online but in reality we are all divergent because since the books are in the future we are from before the purity war. Therefore, we all have genetically pure genes. Being that we have genetically pure genes, we would be considered divergent. The tests are still fun to do though, and you can see which factions you could choose from if you were divergent. Sorry, I just thought I'd put this out there because no one realizes it.

Dani (pastizzidani) | 15 comments Yes! This has occurred to be at some point, but I know some people (like me) get really low scores for one or two factions, and then a higher result for one or two factions☺️

I think if we only got one result then we would freak out a little because that would mean we are not genetically pure

Tris | 92 comments That is very true! None of that Purity War stuff has happened (yet) and no one is genetically modified (yet).

Your absolutely right! Since the purity war hasn't happened yet, no ones genes are modified and all our genes are pure.

Divergentfangirl2002 | 7 comments Yes! And the tests online aren't as accurate as the real things but we all do freak out.

Saumya | 12 comments Orrrr....there's nothing like damaged genes? (I totally agree with Tris...I mean Tobias is NOT genetically damaged). Although, at times, I can't help deciding which faction I would have belonged to :P

Daughterofposeidon | 23 comments That occured to me too. The tests you can do only are fun to do but they're not always accurate. But it's fun to thunk about which faction you would choose if you had to :)

➳Halina➳ Oh, yeah, when I gave my book report right after I read it (and I did on Insurgent, too. It was a really long report.), I had to explain all the genetics to everyone and then at the end I explained the technically we are all Divergent. So yeah.

Joshua (fignewto) | 56 comments Well, I suppose that's true; however, you should think about this quote from the Incredibles. If everyone is super, no one is. So if we're all Divergent it's nothing special. The cool thing about being Divergent in the future is that you're a distinct group different from the rest. In our time as you put it, everyone you pass on the street is Divergent: mailman, garbage picker, criminals, politicians, and children. It loses the weight of being special if we apply being Divergent to the modern day.

Emma Joshua: yup again

@Joshua
Yeah that's what I was thinking. Being Divergent in the present world is like being normal, while as in the future being Divergent is very rare.
