((Oh, those are movies. And Philey is like The First Time. I'm still not sure about Rain, probably Before Sunrise trilogy))

"I don't know if it was perfect, I'm not a smooth kisser." he chuckled. "But I do know that I won't trade that kiss with anything in the world."
"You know, I'd love to kiss you again, like, right now. Aggressively." he said smirking. "But for now, we gotta go low-key, and speaking of go... We need to be on the Great Room soon. You wanna go there while holding hands or should we go separately?"
"Aggressively?" She asked, raising an eyebrow. "Perhaps we could talk about that later... And one last question on my part. Why do we need to go to the Great Room?"
"I think it has something to do with the selected girl that committed suicide." Peter answered. "And I have a feeling it'll be more than that."
"She jumped from her balcony." he said.
"From her balcony? Interesting. It was the fall that killed her? There was no damage to the body prior to that?"
"None that they informed. Phillip found the dead body himself, thou. I can't imagine how traumatizing it could be for him."
She nodded. "Yes, yes... Very traumatizing. Did they check for any signs of forced entry to her bedroom? Did the bruising match the height of the fall? Did the girl show any signs of suicidal intent prior to that?"
"Slow down, Nancy Drew. Your inner crime-fighting-superhero is showing." he laughed. "Okay, no forced entry, that's affirmative. I don't think they did any further autopsy since they were pretty sure she was a jumper after all, due to, you know, no force entry." Peter explained. "And about the last question... I don't know, but if she was, then she hid that feeling pretty damn well."
"I-oh..." She blushed, shaking herself out of 'lawyer mode.' "Sorry. Habit, I guess. It does sound like she did jump... Although her motives, I any imagine. Have they found her more as of her?"
"Maybe. I mean, I don't really catch up on the progress of that case. But if the vic left any, it would've went straight to her family--" Peter's words trailled off as he realized he was talking like a cop. "Ah, now you're making me talk like this." he said teasingly.
((I think the whole stuff at great room is done. so... let's pretend they were there... somehow... xD))
"No, actually. Last night." he answered. "Anyway, I have to go now. I'll see you later at the ball."
"No, actually. Last night." he answered. "Anyway, I have to go now. I'll see you later at the ball."
"I don't know... It's going to be huge, and girls are going to put the best on their looks... I might can't handle myself." he smirked. "Really, Audrey. Was that even a question? You don't have to ask, that privilege is always yours only."
"I'm looking forward for it." he nodded. He headed to the door but paused to looked at Audrey, "Last chance, you don't want to go outside while holding hands with me?" he asked jokingly.
She laughed. "I'm afraid I'll have to pass up that wonderful opportunity. I'd rather not have the media hounding my every step for the next while."
"Too bad. Well, I guess I have to be very patient until the ball, because it's probably the only way for us to go in public without being seen as 'suspicious'." he said with a light chuckle, air-quoting the last word. "I'll see you real soon, then." he bowed a little bit overly dramatic before he opened the door, walked passed by and shut it behind him.
She smiled at the closing door, then she turned back to the rows of books. She did need something to read, after all...
A day before Philip and Riley's wedding, everyone was busy with the preparation and never before the Palace seemed so crowded. After a long list of duties he has to do as a bestman had been checked, he rewarded himself by, as always, hiding on the least place anyone would care about; the library.
Peter picked up a random book from the shelf and read it. It was nice to get away from the busy, loud, and exhausting weeks, and just find some peace. Apparently, it has been awhile since Peter found himself in the comforting quiet situation and it was too relaxing. The next thing, he felt asleep with an open book on his chest.
Peter jerk up and sat straight quickly with eyes half opened and babble "For the last time, no fireworks----ah, it's you." Peter looked at his brother. "What's up?"
"Very cute." he said tonelessly. "Seriously, what are you doing? You suppose to do absolutely nothing until your wedding, which is in like, less than 24 hours."
"You don't have to remind me, I know that. But until then, I'm still your bestman, and like it or not, you gotta listen to me, because I'm in charge to keep you from stressed out." he said. "Just bear with it, until your wedding day is over, then you can completely ignore me after that."
((sorry I disappeared. I was driving))
"Already thought about it." he nodded. "I've told them to doubled the security. Tripled, if you want. Heck, I'm not taking any chance, we'll secure the entire province. I'm not gonna let the guard down, and most importantly I am keeping my eyes on you."
"Already thought about it." he nodded. "I've told them to doubled the security. Tripled, if you want. Heck, I'm not taking any chance, we'll secure the entire province. I'm not gonna let the guard down, and most importantly I am keeping my eyes on you."
Peter snapped his fingers and pointed at Philip. "I know you'll say it." he said. "And ah... No. We're not going to wait any longer."
Peter sighed, "You know, I've been told to be prepared with groom's wedding jitter, or even worse, you're turning into... what the term again? Groomzilla. And we both damn know I'm not... good at smooth talk but let me try something," he put his hands on Philip's shoulder and continued, "Quantitatively speaking, we are not truly safe from any attack, ever. But tomorrow is a very important day for you, and if you just have a good, positive mindset, then everything will be just fine. Words have power, so just say nice, positive words and tomorrow will be perfect."
"Yeah. It will be. Everyone put so much effort to make this happen, and we are all hoping this will go smoothly and safe. Nothing to be worried about. Everyone's happy about it, and the positive energy is filling this place--" he said. "Oh God, I sound ridiculous." Peter muttered. "I start babbling like your maid of honour."
"I wasn't pessimist. I just used to consider the worst scenario could happen anytime. And anyway, the wedding is tomorrow morning, so... in about... 18, to 20 hours from now." he said. "It's not too late if you want to run away for few hours without anyone knowing where you're going and be completely off the radar." Peter teased, crooking a smile.
"Of course you are nervous. You're getting married tomorrow. It's part of pre-wed jitters. It'll gone eventually, and tomorrow morning when you wake up, you won't even remember why were you nervous on the first place."
"Come on, brother. You need to go outside, get some fresh air. It'll make you feel better." he suggested. "Wow, that is an irony, coming from me."
"You know that's not what I mean." he rolled his eyes. "What's bothering you, really? Other than the attack thing. You gotta be more spesific than 'I am nervous'."
"She won't." he assured. "If she doesn't want to get married with you, she won't bother coming back after two years. And you are going to live long enough. There's no 'I' anymore in marriage, Philip, there's only 'we'. You need to think about her too, I don't care how you'll do it, but try be alive, for her. Don't you dare to die before you make Riley your wife."
"Fine. Grab your pillow, you'll sleep on the safe room for tonight." he said. And then he was quiet. Then after a little while, he mind-slapped himself because it took him so long to realized what was going on. "Hey, I wanna ask something. You proposed her, a long time ago. Why wait for two years to finally get married?"
"Afraid of what, exactly?" he asked again. "You proposed her, she said yes. And she mean it. She's ready to be a part of your world, she's willing to change the dynamic of her life for you. You should be glad."
"Well, you need to get rid of that habit or you will get sick. And if you're worried about her, you should talk to someone who knows her. " he said. "Anyway, the worst scenario I can think is Louise all out of nowhere brings a guy we never met or heard about to your wedding and she will be like, 'Everyone, I am going to marry this guy', something like that. It'll freak us out."
"I'll see you later then. Don't do anything stupid, brother." he crooked a smile.
