That was why I drop my goal from 60 last year to 30 then 35 this year. I have some longer works I want to tackle this year, like finishing off The Complete Sherlock Holmes, making another major dent in The Wheel of Time Series.

Must have been a real sucky job.

I adored my co-workers and what I was doing (I was a barista, I enjoy making coffee) but my managers were terrible. Genuinely the most clueless people on how to run a cafe I have ever worked with in my life.
Have managed to stay one book ahead most of the month, but that may change by next week, as I have just started a 400-page classic for another group, The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Brontë. I liked Agnes Grey, which seemed to go pretty fast, but so far it's been slow going. Here's hoping it picks up, and that I can devote a large chunk of time to it this weekend, seeing as I have three days off.
Currently 27/80, one book ahead -- I thought for sure I would fall behind while reading The Tenant of Wildfell Hall, so am very happy to still be on track.

I can't believe I am currently five books ahead, 41/80. I hope this momentum continues through the summer. If last year is any indication, I'm going to need a bit of a cushion come fall/winter (through the holidays).

If you've maxed your goal twice already, then yes -- I think you might want to up it again, and maybe go bigger this time. '-)

You put my measly 42 to shame! '-)

Keep in mind that I usually read cozy-length novels or novellas, no classics like you ;-)

June 30th total: 44/80, five books ahead.
Which includes one 600-pager, five classics, a book of poetry and a journal/autobiography (most of which have been applied to the Ultimate Reading Challenge).

I have 3 books left in this month's mini challenge after I finish book 51....all this math is giving me a headache. :)
I am 51/80, still five books ahead of my goal. I am also 6/10 (one ahead) in my classics challenge for another group, and which is a sub-goal in the Goodreads Challenge.

I am currently 73/100 (almost done with number 74). I'm five books ahead of schedule, so looks like I may actually exceed my goal.
