I really liked it :0) At first, I was a bit worried of the parallels to the Titanic in the first book (These Broken Stars) but quickly was engrossed by the story. Each book is quite different due to the personalities of the characters. There are three couple's story, each weaved with a wider epic battle. Oh and there is a short story too (free online). My favourite is the 2nd book, Shattered World, but I enjoyed the whole series.
I have reviewed the last two (read the first last year when I wasn't posting these on GD yet)- Book 2 review / Book 3 review - but they do have some spoilers..
Ooh if you are interested by these, you may want to have a look at Illuminae. It is written by one of the same authors and it is brilliant - imagine a YA take on Battlestar Galactica with 28 Days ish (sounds horrid but in fact great), using the medium of the book itself to tell the story.

The Queen of the Night for a book published in 2016, and American Gods for a book that takes place in my home state.

Why do I find these challenges so late after they have started?

I didn't pay as much attention to this challenge in 2016 as I did in 2015 for some reason. Anyway, I just finished going through and found that I did much better than expected. I can claim 43 of the 50 categories. (I expected about 20.) So, yippee!
