J.J. Fine | 29 comments I am currently in the middle of writing a book on the connection between creativity and depression. I have talked with bestselling authors, syndicated cartoonists, painters and actors. My ongoing research has demonstrated that so many talented, creative people struggle with depression.

If anyone would be interested in talking to me I promise to treat the issue in a dignified manner and present it the way you want to tell it; your story with your issues, victories and how they affect you as an artist.

A.L. Butcher (alb2012) | 848 comments I'd be interested in that. I get depression and I'm a fantasy writer. I think the writing helps me cope.

My email is libraryoferana@gmail.com

Groovy Lee I, too, would be interested. I've been through so much, witnessed things no child should ever. And I think all of that, including the depression I've had to deal with, created the outlet of writing.

Loraine Despres | 6 comments I've published three books and many, many produced TV scripts. I rarely get depressed. Of course I'm occasionally sad when bad things happen, but I wouldn't call that depression. I'd be happy to talk to you.

Hi, J.J. i would be very interested in discussing his subject with you. I have swings from a deep depression which, most recently, in fact paralyzed me. Then I moved and I got up one morning and started to write. I had soon swung in the other direction and was distressingly manic, writing all day and most of the night. But my point is that a recovering echoic, with mental health problems, I've struggled with how I can think about it good terms
Ann i'll look forward to reading again. My email is pdroberts1@gmail.com

Tami Veldura (tamiveldura) | 1 comments Hi J.J.,

If you're still looking for interviews, I'm happy to volunteer.

I don't have depression but I do suffer from SAD, seasonal affective disorder, which has depression-like symptoms during winter/fall months.

Happy to discuss: tamiveldura@gmail.com

Dean Robertson (agingwriter) | 8 comments Hi again, J.J. I'm just checking in here and have also just sent you an email with a question about your questions :-) Anyway, reading over what I typed above on January 3, I see "recovering "echoic." Not sure what that is :-) but I'm probably one of those, too. Meanwhile, what I thought I typed was "recovering alcoholic." Makes a little more sense.

Thanks, JJ. Fortunately (or not) I am a teeny bit compulsive. The answers should have arrived.
