I'm torn I thought about nominating Terms of Enlistment as I read it and it's an excellent book. But as I said, I've read it.
So I think I'll pull something from my "I want to read it" list and nominate: Earth Strike

by Karen Traviss. The first of 5 Gears of War stories."
I don't see why not, as long as the story provides adequate explanation without playing the game.

You never know. Even people who have read it, might want to discuss it, and more people than you think may not have read it. So I think either way, it's fine to nominate the book.

A classic. I'd re-read it. been a long time.
How about something old school? Harry Harrison's Stainless Steel Rat! A Stainless Steel Trio (which is actually the first three stainless steel rat stories. The first one is really the recommendation.
Jimmy Degriz!

I was introduced to 4, 5 & 6 first in The Adventures of the Stainless steel rat too. Those are aviailbe in singles (not three in a book) and on audiobook from audible.com.
I liked the ones I read first. There is also a short story preqell Where harrison introduced the stainless steel rat that became the basis for the series.
I might have submitted Aventures of the Rat first but I wasn't sure of the ettiquette in a group read of starting in the middle. I found a website where Harry Harrison himself set the chronological order for the Stainless Steel Rat series with the Stainless Trio as the first three.
Still a lot of people were introduced to Jimmy Degriz in the Adventures of the Stainless Steel rat, like we were.
Better, I'm not sure, but I do know that I really liked the Adventures of the stainless steel rat a lot. Even if it was 4-6.

Yes lets make that the nomination. #4 since that's the way most of us were introduced to the Stainless Steel Rat. The book The Adventures of the Stainless Steel Rat was featured in a science Fiction Book Club as a paperback for cheap. It's a good story!
You can get #4 alone in kindle format (and hardcopy I think) and as an audiblbe.com book.

Considerations:
1. All nominations must be added using the 'add book/author' function above the text box (where you post comments or replies) with an official link to the book on Goodreads. If the book is not nominated with a Goodreads link, it will not be added to the poll.
2. Books from past group reads are not eligible for renomination. You can find a list of past reads here:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
3. Books should be readily available, in other words, can be bought new in print or in the ebook format.
4. Books must either be the first in an ongoing series or able to be read as a standalone despite being part of a series.
The poll will go up on April 29th.
