.... the snitch turns out to be the main protagonist.

I've read this book in the last 12 months and have a feeling it's a paranormal series, vampires or werewolves.

I think that she meets him in bar to get the information and that he wears a leather jacket.

Sorry it's not more information, I read ALOT of books and normally have excellent recall on what scene comes from which book but this has been bugging me for about a week now.

Maybe Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews though the snitch is the antagonist not the protagonist.

Thanks all. Was Magic Bites, had totally forgotten how this series started so am now going to reread to refresh my memory.
