Yah. I mean the chance that that day is going to be the end of the world is has about as much chance as anyother day bing the end of the world. And if you think of it, it's VERY VERY low. Don't be freaked out. There's no need to be.
Lol :) Well it's October 10th and it doesn't look like the world's ending!...*knocks on wood* :D
Oh and as Violet says, though there's all things about certain days, it'll just be as every other day.

See even the Mayans think 2012 isn't the end of the world. Look for yourself: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091011/a...
Yah, so basically this whole 2012 thing is stupid. Though I'm still going to go see the movie. Just to see the special effects and see how IMPOSSBILE it all really is.
I hear that from a lot of people. The reason why it freaks to many people out is the same reason that monster, ghost, alien, and muderer movies freak people out. Even though you know it's a movie it still freaks you out because it seems it could happen. But from what I can tell about the movie 2012, it will be SO over the top that it will be almost impossible to believe. I mean the only thing that seems possible is the fact that there will be groups of people killing themselves because they think the world is about to end. But other than that, it all seems pretty impossible.
The world will not end. The Bible says, "world without end". You are a citizen of heaven when you believe in Christ Jesus as Lord. SO, your world will never end, just be more than you realize now. Its no need to worry in Christ!!:) Sharon

That might be true. I mean baically whatever you believe is true, simply just because you believe in it. But where Christans worlds might not die, what about the Earth, the physical world? What do you think will happen to the Earth?
Violet wrote: "That might be true. I mean baically whatever you believe is true, simply just because you believe in it. But where Christans worlds might not die, what about the Earth, the physical world? What do ..."That....is all recorded in the Book of Revelation ((I wont go into all the stuff)). When the people who believe in Christ go to be with him. A person called the Antichrist will come and say that he will be this grate one who will save all the people from storms and stuff. Soon the earth will be so bad that you can not by food with out a certain mark ((666)) and well....ether you get the mark and go with the evil or die for what you believe in
Hhmmm...that's something to think about...How would the world end? Would it be an act of God (like lets say a meteor stricking the Earth), or something that we cause (like a nuclear war, or this whole Climate Change stuff)? What do you think is more likely?
I think it will be both. Wars are all ready going threw wars and it says that the lord will pore out his wrath on the earth. It goes into depth about what goes on but some things that will go on is the huge storms, people starving to death, and sickness. And I think no one wants to be on the earth when the 7 years of tribulation. If you are interested in this stuff, a good movie is Left Behind.
Yah, I think it'll be a combination. Like a plague or two, a world war, and climate change, will distroy the human race and possible life on Earth. Some would say that's today...I mean they would say that AIDs would be the plague, the war on terror is the third world war, and of course climate change is going on. But then again who knows? Who knows when the human race will die? Surely we can't go on forever (physically, I mean).
I've said this more than once, but I have to say it again....If you put the whole of the Earth's history in a minute, the time the human race has been on the planet would be less than a second. And my Geography teacher said this: That if you Earth's history in a time line the length of your arm span, human history would be smaller than the tip of your finger.
All in all, human's haven't been here long. It's hard to say if we'll be here much longer....

That's a pretty good phrase! I agree with you, Violet. Though we have already suffered the plague, but we came back from it increasing our population. We will probably go through countless wars, plagues, AIDs, and a horrible phase of Climate Change, but besides that, if we survive through all those ordeals, we have to see if we'll be able to move ahead and fix what damage has been done. Would that make sense?
Yah. I mean humans are tough. We've survived an Ice Age and many plagues. It would be EXTREMELY hard to kill us ALL off. It's just would be able to survive when our survival kills the planet?
Ooh, Touche, Violet :) That's a really good point. It might be that we survive everything that the earth might give off or that we do ourselves with war and plagues and dieseases, but what happens when the Earth starts to come to it's end and it's our fault?
The world's going to end away, even without us. Though, it would probably happen when the sun dies in a few million to billion years. The thing we want to ask ourselves is will we cause it to end sooner? And then what would happen to the human race?
I guess it all depends on WHEN that happens. Who knows? The world might end (by our flaut or not) when we're able to travel to other planets. We might beable to find another Earth. But again. Would be destory that planet too? Will the human race go on forever, traveling and destorying one planet after another like a virus or a parasite? Or will the human race change at the last moment or before and live on Earth until the sun dies? There are so many 'if's that it's crazy. But you have to think about the likelihood of most of these 'if's. What do you think would most likely happen?

My opinion is, we'll most likely be ending the earth sooner than it would itself if we don't start making changes. Just the US alone has such a HUGE Carbon Foot print!
Isn't it proved that there's not life on the other planets? But knowing humans, we'll probably find a way to make do and be able to make a living where ever we go. Who knows, we before we know it, we might all be living underwater! If the human race just moved to planet to planet, ending all of them, I would be so pissed. I see the point you're making though

It's possible. But I think it might not happen as well. We're really at a tipping point now. We do something, or we don't. And even then, if we don't, I think that we might not completely kill the Earth or the human race. Just put it near the brink of death. But I might be wrong. Kaitie, you could be right. Or it could be something else completely. That's the thing with the future. You don't know.
And yes the US does have a big Carbon Foot Print. But you want to know something interesting. People agrue that since China's is bigger that THEY really need to so something. But the thing is that if to take those totals and divide them by the number of people in the country, the US is emitting more PER person than China.
Well, it's proved. It's just that we haven't found any planet that can have or does have life on it yet. But with the billions and trillions and more planets out there it would be HIGHLY unlikely even next to impossible to have the Earth as the only life sustaining in the universe. The thing is that we might not ever see or visit them because of the distance. But humans are coming up with new tech everyday. I think someday in the furture humans will be living on Mars, the moon and maybe eventually other planets. But that's saying that the human race survives to do that......

Right, though other countries like China have a huge carbon footprint, they're being more quick with making changes. Who knows if either of us are right, really. No one really knows, we can only wait for the future to come.
As you've pointed out, though we haven't found any planets containing life, there's still a lot of planets out there. But since we're the noly planet out of is it about 9 (?) that contains life, you're right it's probably unlikely other planets do too. Plus while we scavenge out there, the earth might be over by the time they come back since space travel can takes decades

We just need to do something right now. What we do today and tomorrow and so on, effects the future. Everyday effects the future. So does little things. So even if the only eco thing to do is recycle, that still makes a difference.
Officially there is 8 planets (Pluto is a 'dwarf planet') in the solar system. And yes we haven't discovered any life, yet. They say that one or two of Saturn's or Jupiter's moons might have life. And if all depends on the tech on whether or not we can easily get to whatever planet or moon that can have life.
Have you seen Avatar? It has some eco and Native American themes it. It's about this other planet (which is actually a moon) that has intelligent life and humans go there and threaten to destory their forest for this mineral. It's a very good movie.

I've heard that the movie somehow discriminates the human race itself...and with "Native American themes" you say are being thrown in there, I can't help it...as Avatar greatly relates to our human ancestors' departure to create a so-called "reborn" Americas...from my sight, anyway...
I guess in a way your right. It does really put an negative light on humans...but you have to remember that some of the humans were good (the main character for one). I think, for me anyways, that the movie shows the good and evil in the human race. And how your choices and beliefs can change everything.
No, why would it be?...unless there are those who deliberately refuse truth. It's just that much is warped and distorted...and it's almost like too many of us see no differences between right and wrong...even what they mean. It worries me greatly, because this portion may feel obliged to take their needs by force and call it "free will". Nothing is right when this is placed.
I agree. The allure of power and money warps the minds of a lot of human beings. Those people will do anything to get it, even if it means denying the truth, and killing anything. It's insane.
No I haven't seen Avatar, though i've heard that the special effects itself is amazing. Since there is some eco stuff and such, i'll see it possibly in the future :)
Psyc94, I really liked your last comment here and I really do agree with you. Even if they do get what's "Right and Wrong" they might interpert something that's wrong into "Right". Which gets me to thinking, really, what is right and wrong? For me I guess wrong would be stealing, drugs, drinking, etc. There is a general realization that there's clear wrong and right things to do, but what about the things that have a fuzzy line?

I think right and wrong is all in your head. Its all about belief. There maybe a common belief of what's right and wrong, but it's never really written in stone. There are rights and wrongs about everything, but its whether or not you believe if its right or wrong. At least that's what I think.
I guess so...but now that I think about it...it's pretty much like being brainwashed in a good or bad form. The only objective a person(s) can really accomplish is believing in righteous morals to their own conclusion. Fuzzy lines have a perspective on any side, but with this, the person must be absolute with the choice and reasoning in order to move on.
True. Makes you think about what you do, right? Reminds me of the people that do some things that is seen as wrong in order to do something good. Like those eco-terrorists. They burn down buildings or destory other things in order to try to stop people from destorying a forest or emitting too much greenhouse gases or something of that nature. In that case they do wrong for right reasons. To them, what they are doing is right. But what is right and wrong in that case?
What you want to become one? Personally I think that they are a little to extreme. The thing is to save the planet, but not kill and destroy. Even though that would save the planet, now that I think about that.....
Yah, I guess it has. It's something that plagues the mind from the first time you make a willing choice.
When you think about it, eco terrorist are sort of...dim witted? Imean as you've said, violet, that we want to save the earth, not by burning down buildings and stuff. By doing that, not only are they scaring whoever they're opposing against or rioting, they're causing CO2 which they should plainly know what it does.
Yah, all it does is make it harder for us peaceful people to get anything done. Plus, I just HATE violence in the first place.
Touche, and for me if you add swearing, littering, and all that stuff that's killing our planet, you've pretty much have created the basic outline of all the things I hate :)
Then you would hate public school. My school is not very violent though others are, but there of course is swearing, littering, and people using tons of napkins, and paper towels. Though, my school does have an eco-group and we're trying to get more eco-frienly. But for the swearing...that's just teenagers and you can't change what normal, tipical teenagers are.
I agree...and what the schools are trying to present in schools. Some schools have a day I think is called boy boy and girl girl day...or other wise 'Gay day' :O *throws up*
