I actually enjoyed it. Yes I cringed during parts (most if the first hand actually) but the second half wasn't bad. If they make a second one I wouldn't want the same director

I didn't like the ending.

Oh yeah that part was silly but I just mean it didn't feel as rushed and like we could kind of breath and not worry about missing anything

The movie in my opinion is not as bad as the trailers made it look

but when i read the book i found it really good and more dark, it's not funny like the movie, and it's wrote in great way
so simply the movie ruin the whole book, and i hope they don't make the sequel
so the people who didn't read the book, and judged the book from the movie, i wanna tell them read the book, and forget about the movie, it's just an attempt to ruin the book

but when i read t..."
you are right, when i had VA in mind it was for me like a hogwarts for vampires, nothing funny or too girly.. i wish they could just make a remake ... :(

I agree with every word you just said.

Im a die hard fan of the books (Im actually re-reading the series right now for the 3rd time), and like everyone else, I was bummed over the movie.
HOWEVER, not as bummed as I thought I would be.
Yes, the acting was bad. Yes, the script was bad. Yes, da di dah was bad. But Im dying for a Frostbite movie.
Wanna know why?
1. Us fans have butchered and probably cursed everyone who had something to do with the movie all over the internet.
Im very sure that they will take us into consideration for the next film.
2. No Book-to-movie adaptation is good. None. No actor can look like what we imagined the characters to look like, they can only make it good by understanding the character and delivering those feelings onto the screen. Want a book-to-movie adaptation that was horrible, where everything from the first to the last movie was way more messed up than this one? Twilight. And see where it got in the end, still shit, but they got loads of money out of it.
3. There are 6 books in the series. What makes you think that this wont get better as they make more movies? The first book was light hearted. The dark theme of VA doesnt come in until the last half of Frostbite guys! Stop being so butt-hurt and calling this a Mean Girls re-do. They cant keep that up for the next movies at all!
4. As you all may know, There are so many more characters to come that can make the cast look better than it does now. Just give it time. There isnt much you can do with a small budget.
5. Once the money flows in, and once they realise they kind of need to advertise the next movie much more than the 1st one, the CGI, costumes, scenery, everything will improve my ten-fold.
Yeah, just had to put my thoughts out there, since no one here sees anything good with this. The movie was kept true to the book for being a 90 min movie, and our dreams of the series will come true if we support them whenever Frostbite comes out (if it does)
I don't think I want a second movie because I don't want them to ruin Adrian Ivashkov! .lol. but with that said and they did make a second movie I'd most likely see it. Not sure I'd pay to see it tho.

and no Book-to-movie adaptation is good but there are decent book to movie adaptations which are those who made the producers loads of money (lotr, harry potter...)Only if they remake it does this movie stand a chance ..for me at least...the can keep the same actors i dont care, but they could at least try to make it serious , and funny if they want to but not laughable...

Oh that sounds better. I was like wow they pick someone who was 42 really?! Lol

I honestly feel sorry for the actors - they had a terrible script to work with and I could only imagine how much they would have cringed having to memorize those lines and then act them out seriously. But even in saying that, all of them had a very loose grip on their characters.
I think the core fault of the film was them trying to glamorize it. It had to be different from Twilight. So they had to market it differently! We have a funny and sarcastic lead lady! This isn't Bella & Edward! LOOK NO WEREWOLVES! NO SPARKLES! NO DRAMATIC STARES! WE ARE FUN! AND FUNNY! They took it too far.
Where was the sweat and the blisters and the pain that all the dhampir students had to go through? Where was Dimitri and Rose? One or two moments that were never set up at all. No intensity, nothing, just lame sarcasm and lighthearted moments that failed to make me connect with any of them or take Rose seriously at all.
In my head the setting in the book was dark and dreary, the dhampir training was hardcore, Rose was tired allll the time, she had blisters, she was running laps constantly. Lissa was emotional and not coping, she had real life issues and would self harm, but no they couldn't even approach that topic seriously either they had to make it less daunting and have it happen "magically". No no no no no no no.
They took the essence out of it, grasped at the vampire aspect of it, turned it into a badly written comedy and expected fans to enjoy a butchered version of a really really well written take on the vampire world.
Disappointed, please do not make Frostbite, I couldn't stand to see Adrian's charm and wit watered down to teenage girl sarcasm.

Good! If they didn't, I'd question what kind of people they think we are to think we actually LIKED how horrible everything turned out.
2. No Book-to-movie adaptation is good.
Ever heard of Sin City? The director worked his butt off to make it's adaptation similar, if not exactly frame-by-frame to the source material and actually gave an crap about what the author thought, he even allowed him to co-direct it!
Remind me again what the purpose of the (view spoiler) because it seemed to just steal precious time and writing that could have went to something else actually necessary from the book? What about "Sweet Sassy Molassy!" Because I could go on, really.

Again, wrong. The Twilight movies greatly improved in later films. If anyone hates how things turned out, keep in mind that it was either in the source material or the fault of the shoddy screenwriter we were stuck with throughout the movies' run.
Besides it also had an incredible fanbase, including people who also went to see the movies, just to bash them. Where was the fan base for VA?

I completely agree. There was far too much not needed comedy and all those cracks they'd make to Twilight, Hot Topic, ect. were pretty tasteless. Why the constant need to put others down? Could it not stand on it's own without mentioning Twilight?

The fact that they couldn't seem to bother with such an serious topic, shows that they were not right for this project. Maybe Weinstein just wanted them for their names.

I absolutely agree with you. Adrian should be spared from this mess indefinitely.

But I'd think we'd all agree an messed up visual of Adrian is NOT what we want for him.

at least then they can take their time in setting up the relationships between all the characters.
seriously - i would so be into starting a kickstarter and to have this happen. i am sure there would be a tonne of fans willing to write scripts for it xD even if it were a youtube based series.
i know people we could do it - just erase the movie entirely from our consciousness and develop something to replace it haha

Though the movie adaptation is something I’m not inclined to watch again, I agree with what Mana wrote:
“In all honesty I could have gotten over how bad the movie was, until that speech at the end... [Lissa’s speech where she told off the Queen and explained her rare magical ability, spirit] that speech in front of the school should never have happened... kind of makes the rest of the movies they would make a little more pointless.”

On the one hand, I thought (personally) that they casted everyone really good. Seriously, that's pretty much how I envisioned all the characters (minus Dimitri, but I'll get to that in a second). Anyone that didn't picture well in my head, I thought embodied the character in the movie.
I also never really got the whole "Dimitri being older" in the book, because I never knew really how to picture him without it being a disturbing book about an old guy and a teenager (I can't picture 20 somethings and teens together very well) so to see Dimitri in the movie was really awesome for me.
But...on the other hand...I thought some aspects of it were EXTREMELY rushed, or just seemed weird (especially with the dialogue). For example, I admit I was hyped for the whole Rose getting hurt and Dimitri worrying thing when she pretty much snapped her ankle, but that scene was only a minute tops in the movie. Also, the dialogue was just...cringe worthy at times. I know that Christian DOES say in the book something along the lines of "Don't worry, I don't bite. At least not in the way you're thinking of", and I hate how they changed it to :I don't bite; only literally" or something like that. Come one people, you're having a cute guy with an accent saying this please don't dumb down the phrase.
I think it's worth seeing, just so that you can see the book on screen (even if it does mess some things up)

When I watched it the second time, I noticed THEY RUSHED THE LUST SCENE!! OF ALL SCENES, WHY THAT ONE??!!!!!!
I agree they rushed through the scenes a bit. I DIDN'T HERE DIMITRI CALL ROSE "ROZA" UNTIL I WATCHED IT THE SECOND OR THIRD TIME. Did anyone else notice he said something like "my Rose" when he was picking her up around the end(after killing Natalie)? I noticed that the third time I watched it
