It's about Tobias Etan, who was abused by with father and by the age of 16 he went to the choosing ceremony, where you can choose which faction you want to be in. Tobias chose dauntless (the warier ) has she struggled through many tough trials to become dauntless; he came out on top. When he entered to dauntless compound he decided that he didn't was to be know at Tobias Eton, so he turned his name into four. He did that because he only had 4 fears and that was unheard of. In this book it show he met and felt about Tris.
Four is a good book for highs school kids. It wasn't the best book out of the series. It kind of a bummer, but still a really good book.
