Valadhiel looked down at Melissa and frowned. "That's not exactly what I was saying," she mumbled before she looked towards her brother when the other girl spoke. "The snake girl?" she questioned in surprise. "You must be like my brother Voronwë, he is obsessed with learning more about strange people as well. He probably would like you as well," she stated and then half smiled. Voronwë, what would she do without her brother. They had to get the relic or he'd fade from this word soon.
Voronwë looked at her and smiled pleasantly. He was taken aback when she called herself an idiot before she lowered herself and gathered water from the ground. He was thoroughly impressed. "You shall have to show me how you do that," he said excitedly as she stood back up and dusted herself of. "Come, let us be going or it will be dark once we get there and rooms to rest will be hard to find," he stated as he started to lead the way back towards his sister. He was surprised to see her conversing with another elven looking maiden and smiled as he approached. "Looks like you have made a friend sister," he smiled.
"More of an accaintance at the moment," she replied.

Hálneth smiled back at Voronwë, "Of course! I can show you sometime." She nodded when he said they should get going. "Yes, it'd probably be best." She followed him to his sister and studied her and her companion. The other girl had a very graceful appearance, almost Elven. But...there was something off about her. Before she could ponder over this however, she was distracted by her rash and focused all her willpower to not itch at it.
Melissa raised her eyebrows. "Then speak your meaning," she asked, most reasonably. She leaned against a tree, stretching catlike and yawning out a sigh. "Some hurry you're in," she smirked. They'd been standing still for ages.
Voronwë half smiled at his sister when she replied that the other girl was more of an acquaintance at the moment. He sighed till he noticed the small twitch of his new friend and went to his horse. Opening the saddle bag he dug around inside till he found the salve he needed. Pulling it out he proceed to hand it to Hálneth. "Here that will help the itching, its made from a mixture of river weed and a land herb to treat rashes. It should work," he stated. He was still fascinated with her and her abilities.
Valadhiel paid her brother no mind at the moment as she looked down at Melissa, hiding her frustration with the girl behind an emotionless mask. "My meaning is that a normal human would have trouble with keeping up, that is all. I did not mean to insult if that is what I have done," she stated. She glared at Melissa however when she commented about them being in a hurry but did not comment. "Brother," she stated when he was done digging in his bag, "This is Melissa, she wishes to accompany us."

"Did I not make myself clear? I wish to race you," she smiled, eyes unusually shiny. "To the gates of Bree." She yawned fussed with her braid. "You did not insult. I just wanted clarification. You have no idea how many people are passively aggressive nowadays," she stretched out her shoulders.
Hálneth smiled at Voronwë. "Thank you. I do believe this will help." She spread the cream on her arms and slid her hand into the opening in the side of her armor to apply to the rash that was there as well. She heard the other girl wish to race with Voronwë's sister. She quietly laughed to herself as she put her hands above the ground again, this time using the water to wash off the excess cream on her hands.
((I'll be able to post after school hopefully))
Voronwë watched Hálneth in awe still, his curiousness still getting the better of him. He looked at his sister and chuckled, only to recieve a point scowl from her. He moved to his stallion and lifted himself up before he turned in his seat and extended a hand down to help Hálneth up. "If they are going to race I'd suggest we keep up," he chuckled good naturedly.
Valadhiel was a little surprised and when her brother laughed she scowled at him in displeasure before turning her attention back to Melissa. "I see, well, if you think you can, better get into position," she smirked, noting the careless yet seemingly competitive attitude of her acquaintance. She let go of the reins to her brothers horse, pushing her stallion forward into a clear spot where they could stand side by side to start. Valadhiel's stallion seemed to feed of her energy, becoming very antsy; pawing at the ground and shifting his feet. "When you are ready," she grinned.

On foot, Melissa stood by the stallion, smirking like she knew something Valadhiel did not. Of course, she did, but it was still unsettling. Her idea of having fun was just messing with people in any and every way possible. The contrast against the small, lithe form of Melissa and the gigantic, pulsing stallion seemed almost too great for anything to overcome. "To Bree?" she offered, smiling. The place was a good ten miles off... Unbelievable.
((Tauriyel {Aka The Mod of Your Nightmares} not on?))
((Ilsa, should I wait longer?))
She grinned, "To Bree!" Valadhiel cheered and then kicked he stallion sharply in the sides. He let out a loud bellow and half reared before speeding off into the road, tossing his head before Valadhiel gave him his head, positioning herself up over the top of his back, turning herself into a streamline arrow. The road flew up from his hooves, pieces of it flying in all directions. Valadhiel loudly, her hood flapping behind her head. She loved the felling of the power flexing and compressing below her into a stream line creature.
She started going off at the speed of shadow, darting through the darkness like an arrow. She kept pace pretty easily.
Valadhiel kept her eyes on the road as she felt the powerful creature under her continuing to propel it's self forward, dirt throwing up from her steeds hooves. She glanced around the noticing she didn't see her adversary anywhere and she started to laugh with the wind in her face until she saw something flirting in the shadows, moving just as quickly as she was. She narrowed her eyes, grinning. So that was the girl's trick? Leaning forward more she whispered into her mount's ear, kicking the beast into a new speed, it's gait shifting to grow longer with ear stride.Voronwë watched and then smiled down at his own mount. With quite movements he ushered his steed forward and followed the race.
((Idk what do to with him now cause Taur vanished it seems))
((Yeah, let's just move on.))
Melissa grinned madly, speeding insanely towards Bree. Really, she was enjoying this a bit much. Besting some silly Elves at their own- fantastic. The girl was actually taking the race seriously! Growling, Melissa lunged forwards, burning through more of her magic in a serious attempt to win this race.

((Oh my god, I'm so sorry guys! I took a really long unplanned hiatus! I've only rarely been on, but only to check my notifications. If you'll forgive me, I would like to continue the rp.))
((Okay.)) Hálneth tightened her legs a bit as they sped up to be near the girls. She chuckled in amusement at their competition and thought solemnly of the underwater races with some of the fish back when she was young. She sighed and came back to real life again. She concentrated on the moving blurs of scenery and enjoyed the rich detail and slightly humid weather. The wind in her hair and wrapping around her pale, smooth skin was very enjoyable. Just enough, of course, to space out. She needed the mental break. This past week above water had taken quite a toll on her.
Melissa's laughing face appeared in the shadows beside them, teasing, just for a split instant. The next moment, she was off by the other competitor. There seemed to be jerking, flowing movement from the shadows. Melissa was curbing the speed of darkness... Just to hang out with them while they rushed forward against path, stone, and air, obstacles she didn't feel.
((back from life kicking me around))Valadhiel kept her eyes on the shadows as she leaned her weight against the horses neck. She continued to whisper in the horse's ear till she felt the beast's muscles shift under her again. She laughed, grinning from ear to ear as she moved her weight above him more. She tried to make herself as one with the half kelpie-half horse as she could. They raced past the shadows as the stallion let out a low bellowing whine almost and teeth flashed. The hooves left large grooves in the ground where they'd been just moments before.
Voronwë was impressed with how much Valadhiel had to put into her stead. This was definitely a very close race, though he'd only caught the slight glimpse of Melissa' face in the shadows. He kept his own stead at a steady carefree lope behind the race, his head tilted just slightly so he had one ear to Hálneth. "Are you feeling well back there? I don't want to go to fast and have you fall off," he asked politely. He wanted to make sure she felt comfortable.
((Hi!))
Mels cackled from the shadows, zooming beyond the horses, as if teasing them, as if to make their every effort futile. "Can't catch me!" She cried giddily.

((Thanks for waiting! I happen to be catching up with other groups and my fanfiction as well.)) Hálneth smiled at Voronwë's kindness. "I am fine. Your sister seems very competitive. Have you raced her before?" Although she said she was fine, she wrapped her arms around him after a little bump. She was trying to not touch him, but she now didn't trust her balance. She blushed a bit in embarrassment. She never had to do that kind of thing before.
Voronwë smiled and nodded, "Yes, indeed I have. She's a sore looser too, but she does have a way with animals, especially hooved beasts," he replied. Feeling her arms around him after the small bump made him chuckle quietly. "Mmm, we might loose them if we don't speed up a bit, so don't be shy about making contact with me so you'd stay on," he stated. Voronwë applied a bit more pressure to his steads side, lengthening his stallions strides so they didn't get so far behind that he couldn't spot his sister anymore.Valadhiel however was to focused to notice her brother far behind her. Hearing the girl ahead of her already made her eyes widen and then narrow. She needed more speed, and her stallion seemed willing to give it, but also near the limits of his body. Valadhiel growled a bit, focusing more on the trail now as she dodged the obstacles in her path. She needed a way to cut the shadows, or warp them so it would make them bend and slow the girl using them down. For now she held tight to her stallion, letting the reins go completely slack so the stallion could stretch his head farther and extend his gallop a second time. "Come on Urúvion," she whispered. The stallion responded to the name, his teeth flashing again.
Melissa wasn't laughing, now. Sh was infuriated that they actually were managing to challenge her! She could see that the horse was failing slowly, but despite having a good magical endurance, she was still being pursued hotly by this woman. It felt stunted, weird. She would succeed!
Hálneth relaxed a bit into Voronwë as they rode after his sister. She realized how far away they were. She started to think that it was her fault they couldn't catch up, he could've gone faster from the start. Oh, I wish I was in my serpent form. I could run alongside Voronwë, instead exhausting his steed... She frowned a little and sighed. She never had companions to worry about before, it was kind of nice, yet bothersome at the same time. At least the girls are enjoying themselves.
